     Cyril Vernon Arteberry was born on 30 Jan 1921 at Madison Township, Richland County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Fred Palmer Arteberry and Hazel Pitts.1 Cyril Vernon Arteberry died on 1 Mar 1945 at Germany at age 24.1
     Cyril was killed in action in Germany in World War II and was buried in a military cemetery in Belgium. He was in the Ninth Armored Division, which was the division that sucessfully made the bridgehead across the Rhine at Remagan. After receiving training at Camp Hood, Texas, he had been sent overseas on New Years Day.2
     His obituary states:
     "Pvt. Cyril V. Arteberry, 24, was killed in action in Germany on March 1, 1945, according to word received by his wife Mrs. Lora E. Arteberry. He was in the Ninth Armored Division. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Arteberry. He is Richland county's 59th Honor Roll Hero of World War II."3

     Fred Palmer Arteberry was born on 8 May 1897 at Decker Township, Richland County, Illinois.1,2 He was the son of John Andrew Arteberry and Arminta Louella Bowers.1 Fred Palmer Arteberry married Hazel Pitts on 29 Nov 1916.3 Fred Palmer Arteberry died on 2 Jul 1980 at age 83.4 He was buried at Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont Township, Richland County, Illinois.5
     "ARTEBERRY -- PITTS
     "Miss Hazel Pitts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pitts, and Fred Arteberry, both of Olney, were united in marriage at eight o'clock Wednesday evening, November twenty-ninth, at the home of the bride. Rev. R. B. Hall of Parkersburg officiated. The wedding march, "The Bridal Chorus" by Wagner, was played by Mrs. Paul Pitts."6
     Fred was named after a doctor and his birth record gives E. L. Palmer as the medical attendant. Fred and Hazel celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1976. In 1978, Fred was retired from farming and was enjoying fishing. Their home had burned and they lost many items which could never be replaced, such as family pictures. They built a new home on the same farm on which they had lived since 1930.3
     His obituary states:
     "Fred P. Arterberry, 83, Rt. 1 Olney, died at his home at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
"Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Bellamy presiding. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Cemetery.
"Mr. Arterberry was born in Richland County on May 8, 1897, to John and Louella (Bowers) Arterberry. He married Hazel Pitts on Nov. 29, 1916. She survives. He was a member of the Elbow United Methodist Church and Sunday school teacher there for many years. He was a former member of the Parkersburg Ruritan Club.
"He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Mildred) Eckel and Mrs. Richard (Palma) Gill, both of Olney, a sister Mrs. Daisy Shirley, Minonk, three grandchildren, ans several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
"He was preceded in death by a son, Cyril, who was killed in World War II, two brothers, a sister, a half-sister, and his parents."5

     Robert Earl Arteberry was born on 29 May 1937.1 He was the son of John Henry Arteberry and Eliza Margaret Barnhart.1 Robert Earl Arteberry married Barbara Jean Wyatt on 29 Mar 1956 at Dixon, Lee County, Illinois.1 Robert Earl Arteberry died on 8 Feb 2018 at age 80.2 He was buried at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, Meade County, South Dakota.2
     About 1976, they lived at Parkersburg, Illinois, and Robert was employed at AMF in Olney.1

     John Atchison married Deliverance (?). John Atchison died on 19 Sep 1677 at Hatfield, Massachusetts.
     He is on the ancestor roster for the Colonial Dames XVIIth Century. According to the listing, John Atchison was born c. 1645 and died 19 Sept, 1677, Hatfield, Massachusetts, when he was slain by Indians during an attack on the settlement. He married Deliverance _____ before 22 Apr 1672.1

     John Edgar Atteberry was born on 4 Mar 1873.2 He married Dora Alice Bowers, daughter of George Washington Bowers and Louvina Rogers, on 11 Feb 1902 at Richland County, Illinois.1,3 John Edgar Atteberry died on 1 Aug 1925 at age 52.4 He was buried at Green Hill Cemetery, Noble, Richland County, Illinois.5
     He registered with the World War I Selective Service System on 12 Sep 1918 at Olney, Richland County, Illinois. He described himself as living on R. F. D. 1, Noble, Richland County, Illinois, age 45, born 4 March 1873, and his occupation was self employed farmer. He was short in height, medium in build, with blue eyes and had black hair. His closest relative was Margaret Atteberry at the same address.6

    John Edgar Atteberry was born March 4, 1873 in Richland Co., Illinois, the seventh of eleven children of Isaac Sylvester Atteberry and Margaret E. Graham.
    He married Evalina Bates on February 22,1893 and had three children: Lillie Mae (m. Fred Brennan), William Edgar(m. Gertrude Belle McCleary and Ruby Edith Gray)and Franklin Raymond.
    Evalina died in 1901, and then he married Dora Alice Bowers on February 11, 1902. They had one son, Sherman Everett. She died in 1906.
    He married Sally Ann Johnson on December 14, 1910 and then Sarah Hulda Barnhart in 1920. He died August 1, 1925.
