"Pelatiah Glover of Springfield enters his intention of marriage with the Wido Martha Old of said Springfield the 14th day of Decembr anno Dom: 1748."2 Also, Martha was the widow Capt. His executor was his wife Martha Omstead who was to receive all the personal estate, "improvement of" 1/3 of the real estate during her life time and improvement of whole estate until son Moses comes of age.3
It may not have been the widow of Jabez Omstead who planned to marry John Hancock in 1773. A somewhat later widow Martha Hancock died in June 1821 at the age of 74 (or age 75 or in her 74th year).4

Nathaniel Wyatt

Nathaniel Wyatt was the son of Edward Wyatt. Nathaniel Wyatt married (1) Johanna Spur on 8 Jan 1668 at Dorchester, Massachusetts.1 Nathaniel Wyatt married Mary (?) on 13 Dec 1688 at Milton, Massachusetts.1
Nathaniel Wyatt, son of Edward, married (1) Johanna, dau. of Robert Spur, at Dorchester, MA, on 8th of 11 mo. 1668. Johanna died 22 March 1687/8 at Dorchester and Nathaniel then married Mary Corbin of New Cambridge on 13 Dec. 1688 (records of Milton Church). She was probably the widow of John Corbin who had resided for some time at the new settlement of Woodstock sometime referred to as New Cambridge. [Note by James R. Pierce, NEHGR, vol. 103, April 1949, p. 150]
". . . it was discovered that Nathaniel2 Wyatt, son of Edward1 Wyatt, was twice married. He married 1st at Dorchester, 8th of 11 month 1668, Johanna, dau. of Robert1 Spur. Johanna died 22 March 1687-8 at Dorchester and Nathaniel Wyatt married 2nd, 13 Dec 1688, Mary Corbin of New Cambridge. This latter marriage appears on the records of the Milton Church. Mary Corbin was probably the widow of John2 (Clement1) Corbin who had evidently resided for a time at the new settlement of Woodstock sometime referred to as New Cambridge.
"Evidence that it was Nathaniel2 Wyatt and not his son Nathaniel3, born 26th of 9th mo. 1669, who married Mary (------) Corbin, is found in the following caveat on file in the Suffolk County Registry of Probate:
"'Memo. Peter Lyon who married the Daughter of Nathaniel Wyatt of Dorchester Housewright deceased desires that administration may not be granted to his brother-in-law Jonathan Wyatt nor any other person till he and the rest of the Children have a hearing before his Honr. the Judge of Probate.
"Boston. December 22, 1718 Peter Lyon (L. S.)'
"The Jonathan Wyatt alluded to was the son born to Nathaniel & Johanna (Spur) Wyatt at Dorchester, 27 May 1677. Peter Lyon2 of Dorchester had married Waitstill, the dau. born to Nathaniel2 and Mary (-----) (Corbin) Wyatt at Dorchester 3 Jan. 1691-2. The relationships are thus immediately clarified. . . .
