Jonathan Old was born on 30 Nov 1697 at Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.2,1 He was the son of Robert Old and Elizabeth Atchison.1 Jonathan Old married Martha Wright, daughter of Joseph Wright and Sarah Osborn, on 18 Feb 1719/20 at Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.3
He lived in Ware, Massachusetts, where a lot was known for many years as the Olds lot. He lived on it, but never owned it. Widow Martha Old married Capt. Jabez Olmstead of Ware on 22 Nov. 1748. In 1761 Comfort gave a power of attorney for the settlement of her father's estate.4 Warren, who appears to be collecting records connected with the name without creating a genealogy, says "Widow Martha int. with Pelatiah Glover, married Capt. Jabez Omstead and John Hancock. ... Capt. Jabez Omstead of Ware River, m. 2 Feb. 1748/9 widow Martha Old (Ch Rec), widow of Jonathan ... Widow Martha Omstead married John Hancock" His reference to deeds E-406 and X-88 is probably for Omstead rather than Olds.5
A record in Book 1, First Church of Christ in Springfield reports the death on 21 April 1740 of "Jonathan Olds aged 41. Years" Jonathan, son of Robert and Elizabeth (Atchison) Old, would have been 42. This record could also fit Jonathan, son of Robert and Dorothy(Granger) Old, who was 41. E. B. Olds did not apply the record to either man.6

Jonathan Old was born on 24 Dec 1672 at Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.1 He was the son of Robert Old and Susannah Hanford. Jonathan Old died on 19 Dec 1696 at Suffield, (in Mass. 1670 - 1749), now Connecticut, at age 23.2,3
The birth date is 4 Jan. 1672 in Stiles and 4 Jan. 1673 in Warren. Since he died at age 23, even though no children are mentioned, it remains a possibility that he had children. I take the fact that a later son of Robert was named Jonathan, shortly after the death of this one, as a clue that this one had no children.

Jonathan Old was born on 8 Jun 1698 at Suffield, (in Mass. 1670 - 1749), now Connecticut.1 He was the son of Robert Old and Dorothy Granger. Jonathan Old married Susanna Temple on 30 Oct 1722 at Concord, Massachusetts.2
According to a note added to the copy of the Olds genealogy (by E. B. Olds) at the library of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, there is more information on the children of this Jonathan listed in the records of the Cong. Church of Springfield. I have not been able to confirm this. Susanna Old, wife of Jonathan joined the church at Suffield on 4 Oct. 1724. It was probably this Jonathan who joined the same church on 25 May 1735. His name is listed as one of many "who to a Judgement of Charity have been Converted" on 24 April 1735 and he was baptized as an adult on 25 May 1735. The children below were baptized at Suffield as children of Jonathan Old but only the first two are mentioned in Olds and are recorded in the Suffield vital records.

If Jonathan Old was born by 1735 as estimated from the ages of his children, I now (2014) have in my database only one other Jonathan Old that might be him. That is Jonathan Old, baptized in 1734 at Suffield about whom I have no other biographical information except that he was a son of another Jonathan, b. 1698, son of Robert Old, the immigrant.
Jonathan and his son Jasper were with Benedict Arnold at Quebec in 1776.2 I have nothing to indicate which Jonathan Olds is the subject of the following payroll entries. These records neither support nor contradict his 1776 service at Quebec.
From a Pay Roll of Capt. Tehan Noble's Company of Militia in service of the United States and State of Vermont --
Jona. Olds, commencement of pay Apr 17, discharged June 15, 59 days, £6.12.0
This payroll is undated but the total amount was paid to Tehan Noble on June 26, 1779.

From a Pay Roll of Capt. William Hutchins' Company in Major Ebenr Allen's Detachment --

Levi Old married Lucintha (?).2 Levi Old was born in 1775.3,4,5 He was the son of Samuel Old and Elizabeth (?).1 Levi Old died on 19 Feb 1821 at Middlefield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.1,6
"In the year 1811 four citizens of Middlefield, evidently thinking their conditions or school advantages or proportion of the burden of taxes would be more satisfactory under changed arrangements proposed, or at least wishing to have their real estate taxed in one town only, submitted the following petition to the General Court:
'To the Honorable Senate and House of Representatives in General Court Assembled A. Domini 1811. The petition of Theodore Coats, John Norsott, Levi Olds & Justus Olds on the town of Middlefield in the County of Hampshire and Comonwealth aforesaid, humbly sheweth, that in their opinion, it is necessary that there should be an alteration in the town line between Middlefield in the County of Hampshire and Washington in the County of Berkshire, beginning where the town line crosses the north line of Levi Olds, thence westerly on the line of said lot to the end line of said lot and other lots to the south west corner of Mr. John Norcot's land, thence eastwardly about five or six rods to the original town line and we pray that your Honours would make the said alteration in the said town line and your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray." This would have the effect of moving their lots from Washington to Middlefield. The town of Washington opposed the motion because of the difficulty of meeting demands from other property owners similarly situated with respect to that line and those on their other town lines and because they could not easily lose support for the poor and for the schools which was based on these lands and Polls. No change was made.7
According to his father’s will, he left heirs. The history of Middlefield, Massachusetts, adds detail, saying he was born at Southwick in 1776 and died at Middlefield on 19 Feb. 1821. He married Lucintha _____ who married (2) Capt. Joseph Smith on 8 Jan. 1829 "Levi Olds came to Mid. [Middlefield] between 1800 and 1810, probably about 1802-1804. He lived on the West Hill in a house which stood west of the road to Hinsdale, north of the house occupied by Justus Olds which was near where the Becket road turns off to the west. He had two brothers familiarly known as "Jet" and was known as "Mut Orcutt". In the skirmishes of Shays' Baptist Church in 1817 and many of their children joined in later years."8
Levi Old appeared on the census of 1820 at Middlefield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, as follows: 2 males under 10, 3 males 10-15, 1 male 45 and up, 3 females under 10, 2 females 16-25.9
