     Lorenzo C. Averill married Caroline K. Olds, daughter of George Olds and Mary Ann Kent.1 Lorenzo C. Averill was born on 21 Jan 1818.2 He died on 19 Nov 1884 at age 66.2 He was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Cambria Center, Niagara County, New York.3
     Lorenzo had been married to Hannah G. Averill who died 15 July 1866. This is the reason I think Caroline may have been still single when her father's estate was settled.4 He and Caroline K. Olds had no children.1

     George Babcock married Olive Simmons, daughter of Abel Simmons, at Windham, Greene County, New York.1,2 George Babcock was born on 21 Feb 1779 at New Fairfield, Connecticut.3 He died on 22 Jan 1844 at his home, Milford, Otsego County, New York, at age 64.3
     A Babcock Genealogy has this to say about George and Olive:
"George Babcock, fourth son and fifth child of Isaiah Babcock, Jr., and Freelove (Briggs) Babcock, was b. in New Fairfield, Conn., Feb. 21, 1779. He removed with his parents to Windham, Greene County, N. Y. ... George Babcock m. in Windham, N. Y., Olive Simmons. They had a family of eight children, all of whom were b. in Windham, Greene County, N. Y., namely:

Mr. Babcock was a very strict Presbyterian, and was very highly esteemed and respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. He died at his home in Milford, N. Y., Jan. 22, 1844, aged 64 years and 11 months. Olive Babcock, his wife, was b. Feb. 9, 1785, and d. Jan. 20, 1858, aged 72 years, 11 months, 11 days. The following notice of his decease prepared by his pastor has been placed in my hands, and is here copied verbatim:
"Died of Consumption at his residence in Milford, Otsego Co., N. Y. January 22nd Dea. George Babcock in the 65th year of his age. In the death of this servant of Christ, the Presbyterian Church and society of which he was a member has sustained a loss though to him we believe a great gain. He was a native of Connecticut and for about 40 years of his life a professed Christian. ... ".3

     Collin C. Bailey was born on 22 Dec 1858.3 He married Margaret J. Fritschle on 10 Mar 1881.4 Collin C. Bailey died on 25 Feb 1923 at Madison Township, Richland County, Illinois, at age 64.5,3,6 He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland County, Illinois.7
     His obituary states:
      "Parkersburg, Feb. 28. -- Collin C. Bailey was born at Claremont, Richland county, Ill., Dec. 22, 1858. His youth and early life were spent in this county. He was united in marriage with Maggie J. Fritchley, March 10, 1881. To this union were born eight children, one of whom preceded him in death.
"He engaged in farming and handling machinery here until 1910, when he and his family moved to Arkansas where he was actively engaged in business until 1920, when he returned here where he has since lived a retired life. His life speaks for itself, but to those who know him best the outstanding characteristics [sic] of his life was his spirit of optimism, as he always seemed to see the bright side of everything. He departed this life February 25, 1923, aged 64 years, 2 months and 3 days.
"He leaves surviving him his wife and seven children as follows: -- J. H. Bailey, of Ward, Ark., Mrs. Edward Chamberlain, of Olney; C. F. Bailey, of this place [i. e. Parkersburg]; Mrs. Harvey Wyatt, of Chicago; G. C. Bailey, of Ward, Ark; A. E. and Ernest Bailey of this place. Also two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Brian, of Sumner, and Mrs. Edward Baker, of Pocahontas, Ark.
"Bro. Bailey obeyed the Gospel April 23, 1895, during the revival sevices conducted by Evangelist Z. A. Haris [sic] in the Christian church at this place.
"Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the residence conducted by Elder L. S. Neathery, pastor of the Christian church at Parkersburg."8

     Collin French Bailey was born on 13 Feb 1886.4,1 He was the son of Collin C. Bailey and Margaret J. Fritschle.2,3 Collin French Bailey married Blanche Beatrice Talley, daughter of Gideon A. Talley and Eliza Ellen Ridgely, on 27 Jan 1910.5 Collin French Bailey died on 10 Oct 1937 at age 51.5,1 He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland County, Illinois.1
     He, as Collin Frank Bailey, registered with the World War I Selective Service System on 10 Sep 1918 at Olney, Richland County, Illinois. He described himself as living Parkersburgh, Richland County, Illinois, age 32, born 13 Feb 1886, and his occupation was R. R. Postal Clerk. He was tall in height, slender in build, with brown eyes and had black hair. His closest relative was Blanch Bailey, wife.6

"He was married to Blanch B. Talley, Jan. 27, 1910. He was a member and an active supporter of the Christian Church and a member of Parkersburg Lodge No. 509 A. F. & A. M. His father passed in the land beyond in 1923.
"He leaves surviving, his wife, Blanch, whose love and devotion thruout their lives won the admiration and praise of their legion of friends.
"Their son, Paul, who was the pride and joy of his daddy, who helped brighten his hours during his later life.
"His mother, Maggie Bailey, of Parkersburg, who tho advanced in years has never ceased in motherly love and devotion to her son during his years of illness.
"His brothers, Henry Bailey of Bald Knob, Ark., Aaron Bailey, of Lenoke, Ark., and Ernest Bailey of Cabbot, Ark., and his sisters Pearl Bailey Jennings of Olney, Ill., and Zella Young, of Vincesses, Ind.
"Collins [slc] early life was the life of the average boy in the community in which he was raised. Upon arriving at school age he showed a peculiarity above average, from the fact that he was a pupil who always wanted to know. This charactersitic trait followed him thruout life, and whatever enterprise he was engaged in he always wanted to know all about it. His earnest application during his early life rewarded him by his being admitted to the railway mail service in 1907, when he was 21 years of age. He retired from this service in 1935 on account of sickness.
"He was seriously stricken in 1934 and at the suggestion of his brothers, he and his wife and Paul went with them to Arkansas where his last days were spent, under the loving care of his brothers, nieces and nephews, who helped to brighten his last days.
"As the Scripture says, "By their works you shall know them, " was truly applicable to the life of the deceased. His many deeds of kindness and mercy, done without ostentation found for him a host of true friends in the community where he lived, and who will truly say, "his life was a live of service."

We wish to thank all our friends and neighbors for their kindly assistance and sympathy during our recent bereavement, and also for the beautiful floral offerings[.] Mrs. C. F. Bailey and Son, Paul, Mother, Brothers and Sisters."3
     Another obituary for Collin states: "October 14, 1937 Collin F. Bailey, 50, former resident of Parkersburg, died early Sunday morning at Bald Knob, Arkansas, after suffering a paraletic stroke. He was born and raised near Parkersburg and taught school there and then entered the railway mail service. Surviving are his widow, the former Blanche Talley, their son Paul, and Mr. Bailey's mother, Mrs. Maggie Bailey of Parkersburg, also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ed Jennings of Olney and Mrs. Zella Young of Vincennes. In Arkansas Mr. Bailey also left four brothers; Henry of Bald Knob, George of Lonoke, Aaron of Little Rock and Ernest of Cabot Arkansas. The body was returned to Parkersburg with services at the Christian Church."8
