     "On the death of his father he became part owner, with his oldest brother, Joseph Talcott, of the Loveland homestead. Aftera few years he sold out his interest and moved away and engaged in other occupations. He is now a farmer in his native town and a trustworthv citizen. He had the advantages of the common school and the academy. Congregational in doctrine and Republican in politics.—W.J. L."      " David Andrew Loveland was educated in the public schools and fitted for college at Thedford Academy, Thedford, Vt. He never entered college, however, but shortly after leaving the academy, purchased a farm three miles northwest of Norwich, Vt., and began the life of a farmer. Nov. 30, 1860, he married Miss Clara A. Olds, daughter of Franklin Lyman and Lucy Olds. Her father was the leading merchant in the vicinity for over forty years and postmaster at Norwich for twenty-five years. He represented the town in the State Legislature for several different sessions. After seven years of farm life Mr. Loveland sold his farm, and during the years 1868-1872, was engaged in the business of railroad supplies and contractor in New York City. In 1872 he returned to Norwich and purchased the farm which he now (1892) owns. In 1881 he removed to the village of Norwich. He has been honored at different times by his townsmen by being elected to the various town offices, having filled nearly every office in the gift of the town. They elected him Selectman in 1874, '75, '76 and '81. He is at present (1892) Justice of the Peace and the Trial Justice of the town. Besides these honors he has many t usts: settling estates, guardian for minors, and care of trust funds. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1892, he was elected Representative from the town to the General Assembly of the State of Vermont.—F. O. L " [Apparently submitted by his son, Frank Olds Loveland.].7

     Franklin Olds Loveland was born on 12 Dec 1861.1 He was the son of David Andrew Loveland and Clara Amelia Olds.1,2
     "FRANK OLDS LOVELAND, the son of David Andrew and Clara Olds Loveland, was born at Norwich, Vt., Dec, 12, 1861. The early years of his life were spent on his father's farm and in the public schools. In the fall of 1879 he entered St. Johnsbury Academy at St. Johnsbury, Vt., to prepare for college. He graduated from this academy with the class of 1882, and entered Dartmouth College the following fall, from which he graduated with honors in the class of 1886. Final honors for proficiency in physics were conferred on him by the college in addition to the regular degree, of A. B. He was also elected a member of the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity. During his college course he was manager of the Board of Editors of "The Dartmouth," and editor-in-chief of "The Academy Student" while in the academy. He is a member of the D. K. E. fraternity. He began the study of law immediately after graduating from college in the office of Parkinson & Parkinson at Cincinnati, Ohio, and in the fall of 1886 entered the Cincinnati Law School, and graduated from it with the degree L. L. B. in May, 1888. He was directly admitted to the Ohio Bar at Columbus, May 23, 1888, and to practice in the United States Courts for the Sixth Circuit at Cincinnati, O., the following day. He remained with Messrs. Parkinson & Parkinson until Jan'y 1, 1890, when he opened a law office in the Chamber of Commerce building, Cincinnati, O., where he is still practicing his profession. Since living in Cincinnati he has been a member of "The Cincinnati Bar Association," "The University Club," "The Literary Club," "The U. C. D.," and is at present (1892) chairman of the Executive Committee of the Dartmouth Association and Secretary of the New England Society of Cincinnati. He has been a constant contributor to the press. The Cincinnati Graphic, Frank Leslie's and the law journals of the country have published productions of some merit from his pen. He united at an early age with the Congregational church at Norwich, but was dismissed from it to unite with the Walnut Hills Congregational church of Cincinnati. This church he joined shortly after his removal to that city."3

     George Andrew Loveland was born on 9 Oct 1863 at Norwich, Windsor County, Vermont.3 He was the son of David Andrew Loveland and Clara Amelia Olds.1
     "GEORGE ANDREW LOVELAND, the son of David Andrew and Clara Olds Loveland, was born Oct. 9, 1863, at Norwich, Vt. He spent the first years of his life on his father's farm, and attended the public schools. He was fitted for college at the Academy in Norwich, and entered the Agricultural Department of Dartmouth College in the fall of 1879, from which he graduated with the highest honors in the class of 1882. July 6, 1882, he enlisted in the Signal Corp of the United States army, and served six months at 'Fort Meyer, Va., after that five months in the chief office of the Signal Department in Washington, D. C. The next four years and eight months was spent in the office of the Weather Bureau in New York City. While stationed there he pursued a course of study in the law department in the University of New York from which he graduated with the degree L. L. B. in June, 1886. He wasadmitted to the New York Bar at Poughkeepsie, May 17, 1888. He never has engaged in active practice at any time since his admission to the Bar. After spending six months at the Atlantic Weather Bureau station he was transferred to Crete, Neb. He re-enlisted in the Signal Corps, of the U. S. A., July 7, 1887, at New York; was promoted to be a Corporal, Dec. 21, 1887; to a Sergeantcy, Dec. 7, 1889, and was discharged June, 30, 1891, when the Signal Corps was transferred from the army to the United States Weather Bureau, retaining the same position in the new Bureau that he had before, namely, observer in charge in the Weather Office, at Crete, Neb., where he still lives. During the years 1S89 rand 1890 he was engaged in giving instruction in Doane College at Crete, Neb., in addition to his other duties."4

Kelly."5 Egbert Henry Lowell married Mary E. Olds, daughter of Daniel Granger Olds and Amanda M. Olds, on 12 Dec 1900.1 Egbert Henry Lowell died in 1942.6,4 He was buried at Royal Palm Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Pineallas County, Florida.4
     "OLDS - LOWELL. Pretty Wedding celebrated at High Noon Yesterday
"Yesterday at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Olds, on Columbus avenue, was celebrated the marriage of Miss Mary E. Olds and Mr. Egbert Lowell, of New Haven, Mich. The ceremony took place at high noon, Rev. Mr. Kelly being the officiating clergyman, and was witnessed only by relatives and a few of Miss Olds' more intimate girl friends, Mrs. Kelly and Dr. and Mrs. R. B. Hubbard. The bride wore her traveling gown of brown cloth, wearing for the ceremony a very pretty and elaborate pink waist, which was afterward changed for a simple one for the journey. A delicious luncheon was served, a pretty feature being the appearance as waitress of little Miss Edna Olds, a niece of the bride, and Miss Vira Hubbard, in white apron and high white caps.
"The bride was recipient of many beautiful and useful presents both from friends here and those away, nearly all being of silver.
"Mr. and Mrs. Lowell went away on the 4:54 train, and after a trip and some visits with Mr. Lowell's relatives in Michigan, will return and make their home in this city."7

     Daniel Martin Luby was born on 31 May 1923 at Scranton, Kansas.1,2 He was the son of Daniel Leo Luby and Effie Ida Mae Olds.1 Daniel Martin Luby died on 21 Mar 2011 at Columbus, Georgia, at age 872 and was buried at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.2
     Daniel Luby is mentioned as a suviving brother in the 2006 obit of Reynardine Knapp.3
     His obituary states: "Daniel Martin Luby May 31, 1923- March 21, 2011 Columbus, GA- Daniel Martin Luby, 87, of Columbus, GA died Monday, March 21, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Howle and Reverend Andy Merritt officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Mr. Luby was born May 31, 1923 in Scranton, KS son of the late Daniel Leo and Effie Olds Luby. He retired from the Ledger Enquirer after 20 years and later retired from Kinnett Dairies after 20 years as a delivery driver.      In 1999, Patricia Law Hatcher published a two part article in which she carefully analyzed the American and English records of the related families of Nicholl, Luddington and Moulthorp and extended the known English ancestry after correcting the previous conclusion by Jacobus that Ellen, wife of the immigrant William Luddington, was a sister of Matthew Moulthorp. The Luddington material presented here is from her Genealogical Summary beginning on page 213. See the full article for supporting material.2
     He had at least the five children listed here as shown by the will of his son John of North Kelsey, co. Lincoln, England.1

     William Luddington was born c 1607.2 He was the son of John Luddington.1 William Luddington married Ellen Nicholl, daughter of Thomas Nicholl and Dorothy George, on 7 Apr 1635 at Wrawby, Lincolnshire, England.3 William Luddington died on 12 Jan 1657/58 at New Haven, Connecticut.4
