Hannah Jones appeared on the census of 1790 at Belchertown, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, as follows: Hannah Olds, one male under 16 and 2 females. Justin was the only other Olds listed in the town.14
According to Corbin, the stones in row 17 of the Olds Cemetery are laid out as follows:
stone 1: Mehitable Olds, d. 1815, wife of Justin [son of Jonathan]
stone 2: David Olds, d. 1811 [son of Jonathan]
stone 3: Hannah Olds, d. 1802, wife of Jonathan, deceased
stone 4: Tirzah Olds, d. 1839, dau. of Jonathan
stone 5: Daniel Olds, d. 1853 [son of Enoch, son of Jonathan]
stone 6: Sarah Olds, d. 1847, wife of Daniel
stone 7: Prudence Daniels, d. 1863, wife of Justin Daniels
stone 8: Justin Daniels, d. 1866 [son of Lurana Daniels, dau. of Jonathan Olds].15
The cemetery where these Olds family members are buried is a conjoined cemetery belonging to the two towns of Ludlow, in Hampden County, and Belchertown, in Hampshire County. It is located where Poole Street of Ludlow becomes South Street of Belchertown and there is no demarcation between the two areas. FindaGrave.com shows Liberty Cemetery (with sign) on South Street in Belchertown at Latitude: 42.18710, Longitude: -72.39548 and East "Ould" Cemetery (with sign) in Ludlow at Latitude: 42.18684, Longitude: -72.39602. On FindaGrave.com our Olds graves are listed in the East "Ould" Cemetery. Corbin lists these grave markers in the Olds or Washington Cemetery.16 Noon reports that Hannah Olds is buried in the East Cemetery or "Ould Burying Ground" in the part belonging to Belchertown. McChesney says "The third oldest cemetery in Ludlow was laid out in 1801 on Poole Street. The East Cemetery, or 'Ould Burying Ground' as it is also known, lies partly in Ludlow and partly in Belchertown. A common fence encloses the area and each town maintains its own section. The oldest stone in the yard marks the grave of Hannah Olds who is buried on the Belchertown side.... Tarzy [Thirza] Olds was also buried in the East Cemetery on the Belchertown side". Thus, he applies the name East Cemetery to both parts.17 The name has been somewhat confusing but the graves did exist when I visited the cemetery in June 1975, then, as now, called the Liberty Cemetery.
