Mary Morse was born on 5 May 1723 at Dedham, Massachusetts.2,1 She was the daughter of Ezra Morse III and Anna White.1 Marriage banns for her and John Hixon Jr. were published on 10 Dec 1743 at Dedham, Massachusetts.3 Mary Morse married John Hixon Jr., son of John Hixon and Mehitable Hewins, on 14 Feb 1743/44 at Second Parish Church, Dedham, Massachusetts.4,5,6,7
ToDo: Find PROOF of her parents. The connection to Ezra Morse and Anna White is weak.
The Morse Genealogy lists Keziah and Mary, born 5 May 1723, as twin daughters of Ezra and Ann Morse.8 Hanson does not list Mary but shows Ann (twin), d/o Ezra and Ann, b. 5/5/1728[sic], and Keziah (twin), d/o of Ezra and Ann, b. 5/5/1728[sic].9 It is unlikely that a girl born in 1728 would have married John Hixon in 1743 or 1744.
Hill says "Keziah & Mary, daughters of Ezra and Anne Mars [sic], were born May 5th, 1723."10

Samuel Morse
M, ( - 5 Dec 1654)
Relationship | 10th great-grandfather of Daniel Wayne Olds |

Samuel Morse married Elizabeth Jasper, daughter of Lancelot Jasper and Rose Shepard, on 29 Jun 1602 at Redgrave, Suffolk, England.1,2 Samuel Morse died on 5 Dec 1654 at Medfield, Massachusetts.3
The Morse Genealogy presents one possible origin for this man: "Samuel Morse was born in 1657, died April 5 (June 20), 1654. In the Register of Dedham, England, was found: 'Richard Morse married February 15, 1586, Margaret Symonson, and their son Samuel was baptized July 25, 1587. ['? -- end quote not found] At the time of Samuel's decease in Dedham, Mass., in 1654, he was 67 yeas of age, whence it is argued that this Samuel is more likely to have been the son of Richard and Margaret Morse than of Rev. Thomas Mose, whose will Rev. Abner Morse, placed on record as promising to be that of the father of Samuel of Dedham, Mass."4
Anderson5 reviews the literature dealing with Samuel Morse and his ancestry. Although, in 1929, Moriarty6,7 had reviewed records from Suffolk and Essex, England, finding three candidates for being the immigrant Samuel Morse of New England and choosing Samuel, son of Rev. Thomas Morse of Foxearth, Essex, Montgomery8 later concluded that the argument was not proven. Moriarty9 then defended his original conclusion. Anderson concludes that Samuel Morse was "probably the son of the Rev. Thomas Morse of Foxearth, Essex" baptized at Boxted, Essex, 12 June 1576. Of course, Moriarty could be correct, having chosen the correct ancestry, and Montgomery could be right that it is not proven.
"On 15 Apr 1635 there embarked on the Increase from London, England,10 for New England, husbandman, age 50 years, Elizabeth Morse, aged 48 years, Joseph Morse, aged 20 years, and Elizabeth Daniel, aged 2 years, Joseph Morse being without doubt a son and Elizabeth Daniel probably a granddaughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Morse. Samuel Morse settled first in Watertown, Mass., but moved to Dedham, Mass., at its first settlement in 1636 and died in 1654, leaving a will."11
"I, Samuel Morse, being sick and weak in body but of good and perfect memory, praised be God therefor, doe make this my last will and testament in manner as followeth; First I bequeath my soul into the hands of a mercyful God that gave it, with assured hope of everlasting life through the gracious merits of my dear Saviour and blessed Redeemer, Jesus Christ
"As for that little estate of outward things which the Lord hath been pleased to bestow upon me, whether they be moveable or immovable, as houses lands, chattel, household stuff, etc., I will and bequeath them all unto Elizabeth Morse, my dear wife to enjoy, possess and make use of her life, during the term thereof, and after her decease out of my life my will is that all that estate which she was in life possessed of shall be divided amongst my children, both sonnes and daughters, that is to say John Morse, Daniel Morse, Mary Bullin, and Ann Morse, the widow of my dearly beloved son Joseph Morse, deceased, who with my said children shall have an equal portion upon a just division with them for the children's sake of my beloved Joseph. Therefore my will is that the above named Ann, wife of my dear Joseph shall make an equal distribution of all that portion upon division unto every child of my sonne Joseph when they and every one of them shall grow up to the age of one and twenty years
"Lastly, I constitute and appoint Elizabeth my beloved wife the sole executrix of this my last will. In witness whereof I have put my hand the day and year above written,
SAMUEL MORSE
"In presence of Henry Smith, Ralph Wheelock, Samuel Bullen'
"This estate was appraised on the 27th of the 11th of 1654 at one hundred and twenty-four pounds seven shillings, and it appears that he had disposed of his property a few months previous."12
