"This seems to be the family of the immigrant wives, Jane and Ellen, for three reasons: This family has both a Jane and an Ellen, and a pair of names stronger link than a single name; there is no other good candidate for either Jane or Ellen; and there is no conflicting evidence other that the age on the deposition. Although a 1614 bith for Ellen is five years earlier that that derived from the deposition, it is consistent with her marriage (age 20) and birth of her last child."5

Abigall Normington1
F, (12 Nov 1620 - )
Last Edited | 23 Apr 2005 |
Abigall Normington was baptized on 12 Nov 1620 at St. Dunstans in the West, London, England.2 She married John Warfield, son of Richard Warfield and Elizabeth Carter, c 1639. "John Warfield, a young Watchmaker in Fleet Street, was married first to Abigall, a daughter of Alexander Normington, a 'Cutler,' and his wife, Elizabeth, who lived in the same street. No Marriage Allegation was made before the Bishop, the Vicar or the Faculties; they must have been married 'by banns.' The 1640 allegation at his second marriage gives his age as 'about 26' (he was in fact eight months past his twenty-sixth birthday), so when he married Abigall he would have been about 25. She was baptized at St. Dunstan's in the West on November 12, 1620. Her name was not "Abigail" though that spelling was also used at the time."3
