Myra Darlene Olds was born on 1 Aug 1884.1,2 She was the daughter of John Hixon Olds and Anna Belle Krimmel. Myra Darlene Olds married George Colmar Dahl on 18 Oct 1911.1,3 Myra Darlene Olds died on 10 May 1960 at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, Bureau County, Illinois, at age 754 and was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, Bureau County, Illinois.5
Her obituary states:
"Services Today for Mrs. George Dahl
"Funeral services will be held today at 2 p. m. in the First Methodist church, Wyanet, for Mrs. George (Myra) Dahl, 75. The Rev. Ervin Brink will officiate and interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
"Mrs. Dahl passed away Tuesday evening in Perry Memorial hospital, Princeton. She had been a patient for the past three weeks. Myra Darlene Olds was born Aug. 2[sic], 1884 in Wyanet, daughter of John Hixon and Annabelle Krimmel Olds.
"She was educated in the Wyanet schools and lived in Wyanet all her life. She was married to George Dahl in Wyanet Oct. 31, 1912[sic]. Mr. Dahl operated a grocery store in Wyanet for many years.
"Survivors include her husband, a patient in Colonial Acres Nursing home, Sterling, nine nieces and nephews, Maxine Whitney of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Mrs. Gladys Van Acken, Coldwater, Mich., Bernadine Smith, Park Ridge, J. K. Olds, Princeton, Austin Olds, Sheffield, Milford Olds, Buckeye, Ariz., Robert Olds, Calhoun, Ardeth Foster, Chicago, and Elizabeth Biderman, New York.
"She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters. She was active in the Wyanet Methodist church and had been a member since 1919. Friends called at the Sutley Funeral Home, Wyanet, Wednesday afternoon after 4 p. m."4
Uncle George and Aunt Myra had lived in Earleville, Ilinois, for a time but when I remember them he ran a Red and White store on Main Street in Wyanet. Aunt Myra had a large drawing of the Bryant family tree in her home and I remember trying to make a copy of it on pieces of wallpaper scrap but never succeeding in making it all fit -- one of my earliest experiences with the various formats I've used in my lifetime hobby of genealogy. They were always very kind to young visitors in their home but perhaps preferred the quiet of their lives alone. Uncle George was always able to entertain me as a child and I sometimes felt he remained the same playful person as I grew older and he did not. Aunt Myra was one who was easily recognizable in family pictures, even from a young age.

Later, in the same column:
"Nathan Olds, who was injured on the railroad at Danielsonville, a few mornings since, died on the evening of Wednesday. He was a man of sterling integrity and one of the most estimable citizens of Danielsville." The paper was published on a Wednesday, 19 Dec 1860, so the death date seems to be 12 Dec.8

Nathaniel Olds married Sophia (?).1 Nathaniel Olds was born c 1781.2 He was the son of Levi Olds and Sabra Archer. Nathaniel Olds died on 6 Oct 1849.3 He was buried at Troy Township Cemetery, Troy Township, Geauga County, Ohio.2
He apparently first appears in the Cummington town records in a deed of 1815 with no mention of his orgin.
Nathaniel Olds is unknown in the federal census of 1810 but appears in the 1820 census of Cummington, Massachusetts as Nath Olds. The listing shows:
Nathaniel Olds was appointed administrator for the estate of Levi Olds in 1821. I am now assuming that Nathaniel was a son of Levi, Sr., and brother of Levi, Jr., BUT HAVE NO PROOF OF THIS. In investigating this hypotheses, I have added more detail to the records of Levi and Nathaniel.
Nathaniel Olds appeared on the census of 1830 at Cummington, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, as follows:
On 7 Oct 1837, while on a business trip to "the West" [including Ohio, Illinois and Michigan] Cyrus Ford reported back by letter to Cummington on the status of fomer Cummington people in the West. This included Nathaniel Olds in Welchfield, Ohio. [Welchfield is a former name for the village of Troy.]4
Nathaniel Olds appeared on the census of 1840 at Troy, Geauga County, Ohio, as follows:
"In August 1845, a procession of five wagons, or Prairie Schooners, started from the town of Troy, Geauga County, Ohio, on a trip to what was then the Wild and Wooly West, or more definitely to southern Wisconsin. Of the team two were ox team and three were horse teams. The personnel of the procession was made up as follows; Joseph Reed, known as Uncle Joe Reed with one yoke and wagon, containing himself and wife and three children, viz; Phebe, aged 17, Elisha aged 9 and Louisa aged no years. The load of the wagon consisted of one feather bed, a few quilts, one rocking chair and two ancient straight-backed, splint-bottomed chairs. James Snow, familiarly known as Uncle Jim Snow, with one span of horses and wagon containing himself and wife and six children, James Jr., Joseph, Sophia, Harrison, Mary and Luther and a very small amount of the house hold goods. Another horse team was owned and driven by Nathaniel Olds, familiarly known as Uncle Nat Olds. Uncle Nat Olds and Uncle Jim Snow were brothers -in-law hence the cognomen of Uncle. Uncle Nat Olds, lost his wife years before, and he had with him only one grown son, B.F. Olds and is known as Doc Olds. His Uncle Nat came to the rescue of Uncle Jim, and took some of his load."
...
"Then the caravansary, which we have escorted all the way from Ohio reached East Troy and Mukwonago, the procession was at once broken up. Amos James and his family Summit in Waukesha County, Uncle Jim Snow had two brothers living in Lowell, Dodge County, and thither they hastened. Uncle Nat Olds and my brother Otis and wife going with him. My brother Simeon spent the winter, with the Wetheralls in Mukwonago, but following on to Rock County, in the spring. My father had followed his brother Samuel from Massachusetts to Orleans County, New York in 1813 and from Orleans County to Chautauqua County in 1826 and from Chautauqua County to Geauga County, Ohio."7
