My dear Sorrowing Sister,
How shall I write and in what order -- shall I first lament my loss or write of the deliverance of our dear Julia from the pain and suffering day and night of her patience, courage and hope -- shall I tell you of my loneliness -- the abscence of the Smile, the welcome and the daily kiss -- this great sorrow though I cannot portray it -- this heavines of heart though I cannot describe it -- this cloud that Envelops me -- all, yes, all, mean Julia has passed from human consciousness -- by mortal eye never again to be Seen -- by mortal hand never again to be touched -- by mortal Ear never again to be heard -- O! how impervious and relentless the word never has become -
Our God be thanked for the memory that still holds the cheery soft voice, the true, sweet and loving smile and the great wealth of knowing her -- the voice I never heard harsh or loud, whose movements were as gentle as her voice, whose Eyes lovingly asked and gave, whose heart as tender and pure and true as her mind was clear and strong -- to me a loyal and loving wife.
I believe she will So gladly welcome us at the right time -- nor dare I deny in Spirit she has been with us and all her loved ones and is with us -- to me a consolation.
Julia was an illustration to what height a human being can attain -- to me an example for my path in life.
At another time I want to give a detailed account of the last days and hours of our dear Julia. O! did you full understand the great joy I have in those kind expressions toward me from yourself and your brother you would indeed realize how comforting they are --
Your brother in Sorrow
