"She was married to A. H. Olds, April 1873. To this union was born five sons and four daughters, two sons and one daughter having preceded her in death. Her husband passed away Dec. 3, 1927. She leaves to mourn her death the following children, Mrs. Melissa Upham of Junction City; Mrs. Cozetta Spence of Salina; Mrs. G. E. Thompson of Hays; J. W. Olds of Junction City; F. D. Olds of Wilson; C. H. Olds of Louisville, Ky; twenty-five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Hattie Gager of Plainville, one brother, John Layton of Lost Springs, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends."20

Lilla Lazelle was born on 17 Sep 1864 at Enfield, Massachusetts.1 She married Merton David Olds, son of David M. Olds and Mary Minerva Powers Underwood, in 1890.1 Lilla Lazelle died on 23 Nov 1949 at Belchertown, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, at age 85.1
"Mrs. Olds was active in the affairs of Enfield Grange, Swift River, Pomona Grange, and the Women's Relief Corps until those organizations went out of existence. She moved to West Brookfield in 1938, and ten years later moved to Belchertown, where she died, November 23, 1949.
"The couple left a son, Leland R., of Springfield; two daughters; Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Belchertown; Mrs. Gladys O. Reed of West Pelham; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
"Lilla Lazelle's parents came to Smiths' Village from Indian Orchard. Mrs. Lazelle was born in 1843 and died in Ware in 1924 on a farm near Beaver Lake. Reuben was born in 1843 and died in 1888. Lilla, their daughter, came to Ware with her parents when she was four years old... Lilla married Merton Olds in 1890 and lived in Enfield. Later the couple bought a farm in District Five in Ware to which place they moved. Mr. Olds was engaged in farming, in the lumber business, and was also highway supervisor. Their family included the son and two daughters mentioned above, as well as another daughter, Ethel, who was born in 1893 and died in 1913."1
