Evanore Olds Beebe was born on 12 Apr 1858 at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.2 She was the daughter of William Hubbard Beebe and Rebekah Olds.1
She "lives at North Wilbraham, Mass."1
"She received her early education in the public schools of her native city, and then, after completing her high school course, became a studend in Minnestoa Normal School. After the death of her mother she came East and cared for an aunt in North Wilbraham, remaining with her until the time of her death. Upon the death of the uncle she inherited a farm of some four hundred acres and this extensive farm acreage she has continued to successfully manage. Along with her many responsibilities as owner and manager of a large, well-equipped and scientifically conducted farm, Miss Beebe has also found time for public service. For twenty years she has served as a member of the school board, during part of that time serving as the first woman chairman of the school committee. She has also served as secretary of superintendents of the town board, and as superintendent of the schools of the districts of Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham, and Hampden. During the period of the participation of the United States in the World War she was very active in the Red Cross work. At the time of the 250th anniversary of the founding of Wilbraham, she was one of the committee which had charge of the arrangements the celebration. She is an active member of the Historical Society, has always taken a great interest in historical matters and for many years she has been interested in collecting antiques, including furniture, crockery, wooden ware, coins, etc. ..."3

"Dorothy had many diverse careers. She was the owner of Ceramics by Bruce with her son. She worked as a pharmacy technician at Garden Heights Pharmacy. She was co-owner of Olds Floral Shop in Corry with her husband until they closed it. Then she worked in the family floral business in Union City. She also worked in private duty nursing care in Grove City while her husband attended college.
"She was a fantastic cook who made everyone's favorite apple pies and delicious pierogis. She insisted on making the family meals until she was hospitalized. She was an avid gardener. She was recently teaching her granddaughter the art of reupholstering furniture. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She was the ultimate "Santa" for her family. She enjoyed all the holidays because it was the time that her sisters' and brothers' families came together. She was selfless and totally devoted to her family. She was happily married to her husband, Bruce Olds, until he passed away. They were even able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. She was the sole caregiver of her son for 39 years after he became a paraplegic at age of 21. She had a wheelchair accessible home built and started the ceramic business for him. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed visiting her family in Michigan and Kentucky. She had a large, close family whose company she always enjoyed. Dorothy and her sisters would have weekly phone calls with each other to share news of their families. She also enjoyed her Sunday night dinners with Connie, Wally, and Kathy. She enjoyed trips to Walt Disney World with her late husband, children and grandchildren.
"Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce A. Olds, in 1998; a son, Bruce A Olds, Jr. in 2010; three sisters, Pauline Wasilenski, Lucy Wydrychiewicz and an infant sister Mary; three brothers, Michael, Roman, and Walter Bem; and her longtime friend, Betty White.
"Survivors include a daughter, Susan Olds Wheeler, husband Paul, of Erie; three sons, Brian Olds, wife Rose, of Erie, Alan Olds, wife Nancy, of Longwood Fla. and Mark Olds, wife Nora, of South Riding, Va; two sisters, Sophie Ainsworth of Louisville, Ky. and Bernice Chrostowski of Fenton, Mich; a sister-in-law, Constance Bem of Union City, Pa; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Thomas, and Laura Wheeler, and Sara, Elizabeth, Madeline, and Andrew Olds; and many well-loved and cherished nieces and nephews.
"Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street, and are invited to attend services Saturday at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 12 noon. Ch. at Harvard, June 3, 1801; dismissed June 3, 1813. He married 1. Sophronia, dau. of Capt. Phineas Chapin of Springfield, now Chicopee, Ms, Feb. 13, 1802. 2. Susan, dau. of the Rev.
