Emma Elzina Olds married Dr Henry Walker Clouchek.1 Emma Elzina Olds was born on 3 Mar 1877 near Carlton, Oregon.1 She was the daughter of Nelson Harvey Olds and Phebe Livengood.1 Emma Elzina Olds died on 10 Apr 1971 at Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, at age 94.2
"On June 14, 1904, at Elgin, Oregon, she married Dr. Henry Walker Clouchek, who was born at Michigan City, Indiana, April 7, 1877. In 1904 he located at Twin Falls, Idaho, and was a leading physician and surgeon of that community until his death thirty years later, on Feb. 19, 1934. Mr. and Mrs. Clouchek had only one child, a son who died in infancy.
"As a young woman Emma Elzina Clouchek taught school in Yamhill County, Oregon. During the years that she resided at Twin Falls, Idaho, she took a prominent part in civic, county, and state affairs. She was elected to the Idaho State Legislature; served as State and County Chairwoman of the women's division of the Idaho State State Republican Organization; and in 1931 was elected a member of the Republican Party National Committee.
"She presently (1952) resides at 6028 S. E. Reed College Place, Portland, Oregon."1
Her obituary states: "EMMA OLDS CLOUCHEK
"The daughter of an Oregon pioneer family, Mrs. Emma Olds Clouchek, formerly of Ione Plaza, died Saturday in a Portland nursing home.
"Mrs. Clouchek was born March 3, 1877, in Yamhill County, the daughter of early day settlers Nelson and Phebe Olds. During her early years she taught school in Oregon, later assisting her husband, Dr. Nelson [sic] Clouchek, with his medical practice in Twin Falls, Idaho.
"She returned to Portland in 1946.
"Mrs. Clouchek was a patroness of several colleges and a member of the National Wildlife Foundation, YWCA, the Oregon Symphony Society, American Museum of Natural History, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Daughters of American Revolution, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Daughters of the Nile, Portland Women's Forum, Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers, Order of Eastern Star and United Good Neighbors.
"She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
"She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ella M. Myers and Mrs. Sarah Coiner of Twin Falls, Idaho.
"Funeral will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the McGinnis & Wilhelm Funeral Home, 6637 SE Milwaukie [sic] Ave., with cremation in Portland Memorial."2
