These two are the only Curtis obits indexed for the 1920s. Both men seem to have well established identies wihout Jessie. The first is for Thomas D. Curtis, Sr., 1870 - 1921, buried in Landrum, who died too early to be missing husband of Jessie.
The second is NOT Thomas D. Curtis, Jr, b ca. 1922, who lived konger and went to California.5
Her mother apparently died young because she was not memtioned by Jessie.6

Katherine (?) married (1) Robert Brooke, son of Mr. (?) Brooke.1 Katherine (?) married (2) John Beryman on 22 Sep 1554.2 Katherine (?) died in Mar 1565.2
She left a will on 14 Mar 1566. It states "I Katheryne Beryman of London wedowe beinge sicke of body ... And my body to be buryed in the porche of the p[ar]ishe churche of St. Margarett in Bredgestreate of the Cittie of London between the twoe dores of the said church ... to Johan woodde my sister fyve powndes ... ". She also left many other bequests of personal property including to her daughters, their husbands and their children. She named daughter Margaret and her husband William Hartinge (yeoman in the parish of St. Leonard in Shoreditch, Esex), daughter Frances Clarke and her husband, daughter Isabel and her husband, John Wilson, citizen and draper of London, and her son John Brooke. Also among those mentioned are "John Beryman my late husband" and a William Franklin and his daughters. William Franklin had been called cousin in the will of John Beryman. Katheryn Noble "wedowe my kynsewoman" was given six shillings eight pence. After disposing of her personal property, she gave "to John Broke my sonne all that my messuage or tenemente with Shoppes cellers sollers warehowses yards lightes easements comodities hereditamentes and appurtances whatsoevr thereto belonginge comonly called the signed of the starre and the sturoppe sette and beinge in gracious street in the said p[ar]ishe of Saynte Leonard nighe Eastechepe of london nowe beinge in thoccupacon of the saide John Brooke or his assignes and all and singular my messuages landes [etc], lyinge and beinge in the p[ar]ishe of Horsham in the Com of Sussex nowe beinge in thoccupacon of Richarde hollande or his assignes ... and for lacke of such issue of the body of [John] Brooke my sonne lawfully begotten and to be gotten I will that my said messuages landes tentes, etc. shall fully and holy remayne to the said Isabell my doughter and to her heires and assignes for ever to holden of the chefe lorde or lordes of the fee or fees thereof by the rentes and services thereof due and of rights accustomed ..." She made son John Brooke and son-in-law John Wilson executors of her estate. The will was probated 24 March 1565/6 (Commissary Court of London, Huick p. 1559-70, p. 247."3

She was born in Hardwick, the daughter of Timothy and Mary Fay, and spent her early life in that town. She had been a resident of this city for many years. She was a member of Hope church. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. B. H. Dayton of Cleveland, O., a son Charles D. Ashcroft of Pittsburg, Pa., three sisters, Mrs. E. A. Wood, Mrs. Wilder Harnes, and Mrs. Merry A. Pepper, all of North Brookfield, and a brother Joseph Fay of Hardwidk. The funeral will be in Roadstrand's chapel this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. G. S. Rollins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery."2
