Robert Greene was born on 25 Aug 1810 at North Carolina.1 He was the son of Joseph Greene and Elizabeth Shearer. Robert Greene married Julia Ann Moore, daughter of Job Moore and Nancy S. Hight, on 11 Jun 1864. Robert Greene died on 14 Jan 1885 at North Carolina at age 74.
His obituary states:
Mr. Robert Greene, whose body was buried in the family burial ground, near Blowing Rock last week, was born and raised on the mountain. Though he lived on Mulberry for some years, he always spoke of this as his home. It was interesting and amusing to hear him tell of the hunting exploits of his boyhood. The story of his trials and difficulties when starting in life was instructive as well as interesting to me. His friendly talks did me much good, giving me encouragement, infusing as it were new life and energy in me.
Uncle Boh had long been a member of the Baptist Church, and was an honest, unassuming Christian gentleman, "one of God’s noblemen.” He left many friends and relatives here, who will miss his genial face and friendly admonitions. Their loss is his eternal gain, their consolation, he is not dead only gone before. Whilst his body is moulding in the coffin, the immortal soul, or in other words the real man, Robert Greene hath attained his resurrection, and is now living in the society of congenial friends, who preceded him to the spiritual world.
