"STOCKTON - A tombstone belonging to a boy who died in 1857 - and whom no historian could recall - was unearthed recently by a retired mechanic and attached, unbeknownst to the city, to a monument built to honor the horseman John Brown. ... No mention of the "Son of Noah & Lucy Aun Burrows ... aged one year" existed, after all, when the marker [for Brown] was erected in 1969. Retired auto mechanic Victor Rosasco was on hand to explain. He rebuilt the monument and affixed the tombstone. Rosasco owns the vacant lot by the monument and unearthed the boy's tombstone during a recent excavation of gas tanks underground. Before it was a gas station and later a car lot, the land was part of the old Stockton Citizen's Cemetery, where Brown was buried. The boy, presumably, was buried there, too ... An 1871 city directory lists an N. Burrows, a farmer near Waterloo Road. He might have been the father of the boy whose grave the headstone marked, said Tod Ruhstaller, director of The Haggin Museum. There is no evidence to suggest anyone would notice him had Rosasco not."

"Last Rites Observed For Lucius E. Olds
"Long Illness Fatal to Prominent Vevay Farmer
"Funeral services are being held this, Thursday, afternoon for the late Lucius Olds, 77, prominent Vevay farmer, whose death occurred at the family home Monday evening. Mr. Olds had been in ill health for a considerable time but it was not until Saturday that his condition became critical. Services will be conducted from the Ball funeral home and the body will be laid to rest in Maple Grove.
"Lucius E. Olds was born on the farm in Vevay where he has spent his life on March 4, 1857, and was the son of Ariel and Eloisa Gallup Olds, pioneer settlers of that section. During his active years he was counted among the sucessful farmers and stock breeders of this locality.
"In his early twenties he was married to Ella Chase who passed away April 6 1884. Eight years later he was married to Della Chase who also passed away soon following the marriage. October 30, 1894 he was married to Nellie L. Coy of Mason. To this last union were born two daughters, Lois, now Mrs. Harold Wiltse, and Doris. The widow, two daughters and one granddaughter survive.
"During his life Mr. Olds was a lover of fine horses and was among the last to succumb to the use of an automobile. His farm in earlier years produced much good livestock including many of the finest driving horses which went out of this market. He was prominent in local civic affairs and served as a member of the school board for his district."3
