Clara Louise Hull was born on 10 Nov 1882.1 She married Norman Evry Olds, son of Charles Luther Olds and Eliza Jane McLachlan, on 31 Oct 1906 at Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.1,3
     "Olds -- Hull
"A more beauitiful day or a more beautiful setting for a wedding could not have been wished for than was that of Miss Clara Louise Hull's, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Hull, whose marriage to Mr. Norman Evry Olds, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Olds, was solemnized at the Hull residence on West Wayne street last evening at 6 o'clock. Smilax, palms, ferns, roses, carnations and chrysanthemums transformed the house into a radiant bower of beautiful colors, soft lights and fragrance. A new feature in decorating gave an exceedingly pretty effect; dozens of brilliantly colored butterflies were suspended above the chandeliers in the various rooms, the current of air from the lights causing them to flutter about as if alive, in and out of the garlands of smilax with which the chandeliers were elaborately draped. At the turn of the stairway into the hall, suspended from the ceiling, was a dainty Cupid driving by silver ribbons a flock of these beautiful butterflies, poised above the light on the newell post. The parlor was exquisitely done in pink and white, the color scheme of the wedding throughout, with palms and ferns banking the mantel brightened by the pink and white carnations profusely used. The archway between the parlor and living room was artistically twined with smilax. The mantel in the living-room was banked with palms and ferns and trimmed with great bouquets of pink and white carnations. The archway between the living-room and the music-room, under which the marriage service was pronounced, was a marvelously beautiful solid mass of pink and white chrysantheums, suspended from which was a Cupid with outstretched wings holding garlands of smilax twined with tiny rosebuds. The music room was more like a glen in a deep woods than a room, for it was banked solidly with palms and ferns, forming a contrasting background to the brilliant arch. To the thrilling strains of Lohengrin played by Reineke's orchestra, two exquisitely pretty little girls, Georgianna Hudson and Elizabeth Bradshaw, dressed in dainty, airy low necked and short skirted white gowns, beautifully trimmed in valenclennes lace, hem-stitching and pin tucks, with a shower of sash in satin ribbon, and wearing half-hose and white kid shoes, and with wreathes of smilax in their hair came slowly down the fern-twined stairway, and stretched white ribbons through the parlors, forming an aisle for the bride, who entered upon the arm of her father, preceded by her honor maid, Miss Mabel Hull, who was charmingly pretty in her gown of Nile green chiffon over tafetta, made low-necked and short-sleeved and trimmed with a handsome duchesse lace bertha. In her hair she wore a wreath of green, and carried white chrysanthemums tied with tulle, The bride made a beautiful picture in hee lovely white lace robe over shell pink chiffon over taffeta. Her long veil was attached to the hair by a coronet of tiny pink rosebuds, and she carried a shower boquet[sic] of pink buds tied with tulle. Her only jewels were a handsome "La Valilere" necklace, the gift of the groom. She was met under the archway by the groom, who was attended by his brother, Mr. Percy Olds. The Rev. Henry B. Master read the marriage service, while the orchestra softly played Wagner's "Evening Star"[.] After the ceremony the Mendelssohn wedding march was played as the bride and groom received congratulations from the families and immediate relatives who alone witnessed the ceremony. The wedding supper under the supervision of Mrs. Shoemaker, was served in the dining-room, whch was handsomely decorated with crimson poppies, carnations, Richmond roses and palms. The large poppy shade over the table was twined with smilax, long garlands of which were draped to the table, marking off the places at the table. At each place was a crimson candle, and in the center was a huge basket of Richmond roses and ferns tied with a crimson satin bow. Red carnations adorned the mantel and sideboard. Mrs. Hull was handsomely gowned in a heliotrope crepe de chine, trimmed in lace and opalescent garnitures. Mrs. Olds wore a beautiful gown of pale green embroidered silk, trimmed in point lace and made en traine. Miss Olds was charming in a dainty gown of light blue silk trimmed in blue and white ruchings and a touch of rose pink.
"A reception from 8 to 10, to which were bidden about six hundred guests, followed the wedding supper. Refresments were served in the dining-room, and upon the spacious porch, which was made attractive with lights, flowers and rugs. In the parlor Miss Margery Olds, sister of the groom; Mrs. Oscar Brokaw. Mrs. H. O. Brugeman and Miss Jean McLaughlin, a cousin of the groom, from Schenectady, N. Y., asssisted in receiving. Mrs. T. R. Cook and Miss Stella Sweringen presided over the dining room assisted by the Misses Eliza Hanna, Helen Harper, Ruth Evans and Aime Rothschild.
" Mr. and Mrs. Olds left last night for an eastern trip including visits at Pittsburg, Washington and New York. They will go to Hartford, Conn., where they will make their future home. Mrs. Olds' going away gown was of navy blue broadcloth, with hat to match, trimmed in light blue wings. Out-of-town guests were Miss Jean McLaughlin, of Schenectady, N.Y; Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Romelsa, of Toledo; Mrs. Gibson Sisco and Mrs. Johnson of Allegheny.
"Mrs. Olds is a very pretty girl of the cameo type of beauty, and is of a sweet and lovable dispostion. Mr. Olds is a Harvard graduate, has evidenced much business ability, and is a young man of high principles and sterling character."3

Joanna Hunt

F
Father*John Hunt (circa 1688-Sep 1748)
Mother*Margaret Moore
Last Edited22 Nov 2016
Joanna Hunt was the daughter of John Hunt and Margaret Moore. Joanna Hunt married (2) Jeremiah Greene, son of William Greene and Joanna Reeder; This marriage seems to be supported by tradition only. Joanna Hunt was buried at North Carolina. She married (1) Philip Phillips.1
This same Joanna Hunt appears to be mentioned by Lee who says: "Isaac Reeder, son of John and Hannah (Burroughs) Reeder, born at Newtown, Long Island, 1678, died March, 1763, at Ewing, New Jersey. He married (first) Elizabeth Yard, widow of John Yard, and she bore him daughter, Sarah, who died unmarried. He married (second) Joanna Hunt, daughter of John and Margaret Hunt, and she bore him a son John, see forward, and a daughter, Abia, who died unmarried. . . . John Reeder, only son of Isaac and Joanna (Hunt) Reeder, was born at Ewing, New Jersey, April 12, 1725, died August 15, 1788. He married, January 18, 1753, Hannah Marshand."2
In his discussion of Elizabeth Bainbridge and her children, McCracken says: "An Isaac Reeder -- I think this one -- was married on 21 May 1721 at the Presbyterian Church at Newtown, Long Island, to Anna Hunt, a woman who died young, leaving a daughter Sarah Reeder who is mentioned in the will of her grandfather, Edward Hunt of Newtown, Long Island, dated 15 Jan. 1715/6, probated 29 Feb 1715/6 (NYGBR 56:78; TAG 26:6).3
McCracken adds: "If there really was a later marriage [for Isaac Reeder] to Joanna Hunt, she was probably, as Lee says, the daughter of John and Margaret (Moore) Hunt, who were married at the Presbyterian Church, Newtown, Long Island, 2 Feb 1714/5 (NYGBR 56:79), and thus could not have been born earlier. She is generally believed to have been the Johannah Hunt who was the iwfe of Phillips,born6 Oct. 1704, died intestate in Greenwich, then Morris (now Warren) Co. in 1748 (NJ Wills 2:378). This Joanna could easily have met Isaac Reeder, since her parents resided in Hopewell, and her first husband was of the wellknown Maidenhead family. In 1750 Reeder was 72 years of age and such a wife could not have been over 35. This is not so serious an objection as the claim that Joanna gave birth to a daughter Abiah Reeder who died at 19. Between the earliest date when Joanna (Hunt) Philllips was free to marry again and the date of Isaac Reeder's will in 1760, there is insufficient time to produce an Abiah Reeder who was daughter of Isaac and Joanna. Such a child might have been born and died before Isaac Reeder made his will but if so, she was hardly as old as 19."4
Hunt family researcher Mitchell J. Hunt, in a study of Colonel Jonathan Hunt (1716 - 1782), discuses some of the siblings including
"Johanna Hunt, also found as Joanna and Hannah, is shown by Yount and others as "dying young" but was found by Cook to have m. in Hopewell, NJ, Philip Phillips who died in 1748.9 and nothing further was found on her was in Hoopewell records. From impressive circumstantial evidence she m. 2d, prob. as his 2d wife, Jeremiah Greene and removed with him and some of her siblings to Rowan Co., NC. There is legend in the families of some descendants of Jonathan Hunt that his sister was the wife of Jeremiah Green. Among the deed records of McCulloch transfers was one for 540 acres to "Geremiahj" Green 17 Nov. 1761. The Hunts and Greenes were closely associated in Rowan County and John Green, the son of Jeremiah, m. 16 Jan 1799 Hannah Hunt, the dau. of Dr. Daniel Hunt whose wife is speculated to have been a Green."5
