In November, 1913, he had left the U. S. and arrived in Powell River, British Columbia, as a foreman. He was married to Georgia Olds, born in Carlton, Nebraska, and "resides in Falls View, Oregon City, Oregon." He had one daughter, Ruth Ketchum, born in Oregon City, Oregon, where she was still living. His Canadian address was 350 2nd Sreet, Powell River, B. C. and his father, A. Ketchum of Oberlin, Kansas was to be informed in case of death or accident.3
He applied again on 2 Aug 1917, at which time he added that his wife Georgia R. Olds was born 26 Sep 1873 at Carlton, Nebraska and that they had been married on 28 March 1894 at Albany, Oregon. He presented his marriage certificate for inspection. A personal description was added, saying he was 48 years old, 5' 4 1/2" tall, grey eyes, dark hair with fair complexion and his left leg was 5/8" short.3

Thirza Fanny Kinder was born on 22 May 1876 at Eldercroft Farm, La Salle, Illinois.1 She married Guy Melvin Olds, son of John Hixon Olds and Anna Belle Krimmel, on 16 Feb 19102,3 and was buried at Rockwell Cemetery, La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois.4 Thirza Fanny Kinder died on 19 Feb 1951 at LaSalle, Illinois, at age 74.1,5
She was a daughter of James E. and Anne Grantham Dyball Kinder. After Guy’s death, she returned to the Kinder family home in LaSalle, living there until her death. She did not remarry and had no children.5

"Mrs. Thirza Kinder Olds, 74, Rt. 2, La Salle, the last member of a prominent pioneer family, died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at the farm home, where she was born, May 22, 1876.
"A daughter of the late James E. and Ann Grantham Dyball Kinder, she was educated in the local schools and on Feb. 16, 1910, was married to Guy M. Olds, Wyanet.
"After her marriage she resided in Muscatine, Ia. and Peoria, returning to the family home after her husband's death, Feb. 14, 1916.
"Preceding her in death, beside her parents and her husband, were three sisters, Mrs. Ann Emma Kinder Johnson, Mrs. Lydia Kinder Clark, and Mrs. Amelia Kinder Cundiff, and four brotrhers, Joseph H., John R., James T., and Alfred G., the latter on May 13, 1950.
"Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
"Mrs. Olds was a member of the Rockwell cemetery association, serving as its president at the time of her death. She was also a member of Electa chapter, No. 175, OES of Peoria.
"Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the family home, known as Eldercroft farm, east of La Salle. The Rev. Merrill Beale, pastor of the La Salle Congregational church will officiate, assisted by the Rev. George S. McClary, a former pastor of that church, and a close friend of the family for many years. Burial will be in Rockwell cemetery.
"The body is to be taken from the Hurst funeral home to the family home late Monday afternoon and friends may call there after 7:30 p.m. Monday."6
