     Marcia Elisabeth Olds was born on 12 Jun 1928.1 She was the daughter of Edwin Glenn Olds and Marion McNeil Knowles. Marcia Elisabeth Olds died on 10 Aug 2003 at age 75.1 She was buried at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mount Lebanon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.2,3
     A Social Security Claim was made for Marcia Elisabeth Olds in Aug 1944 giving her name as Marcia Elizabeth Olds. This listed her father's name as Edwin G. Olds, her mother's name as Marion Knowles and her birth as 12 June 1928. The report also shows:
     her name was Marcia Olds Singley in Aug 1954 and Marcia O. Singley on 13 Aug 2003.4
     Her obituary states:
     Marcia Elisabeth (Olds) Singley Age 75 of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania passed away at home on Sunday, August 10, 2003. Beloved wife of Bill Singley for 49 years; loving mother of Molly Singley and David (Joanne) Singley and grandmother of Lauren and Andy Singley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lark March, of Kennett Square, PA and her aunts, Ruth Olds and Doris Stark of Lockport, NY. Marcia devoted most of her life to community service. She was a past Regent of the Pittsburgh Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and also held national office in that organization. She served as President of the Fort Pitt Society, owners of the Fort Pitt Blockhouse in Point State Park. Marcia was State Regent and held several national offices in the Daughters of the American Colonists. She was President of the Federation of Independent School Alumnae, founders of Harmarville Rehabilitation Center, from 1977 to 1981. She also served on Harmarville's Board of Trustees and was a key member of the fund-raising effort to build Harmarville's facility in Indiana Township. Marcia was an active member of Winchester Thurston School's Alumnae Association, where she served on numerous committees, including Alumnae Association President. In 1984, she was honored by being named Winchester Thurston's Alumna of the Year. She was a member of the Magna Charta Dames, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and the Eastern Star. Marcia participated actively in the life of Southminster Presbyterian Church and was a leader in the effort to raise funds for Mackinaw City, Michigan's Public Library. Marcia was a graduate of The Winchester Thurston School. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. No public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 14th at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Rd, Pgh., PA 15228. Interment private. Arrangements by BEINHAUER'S (412) 531-4000. Family suggests memorial contributions to the National Parkinson's Foundation Center of Excellence, 3471 Fifth Ave., Pgh., PA 15213. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith."5

     Marcus Dela Fayette Olds was born c 1792 at New York.2 He married (1) Jane Campbell on 27 Jun 1816 at Butler County, Ohio.3
     On 24 Sep 1808 in Ontario County, New York, Joseph Brundage was appointed guardian of Marquis de la Fayette Olds, age 17, of Canandaigua.
If this record applies to my subject, as it appears to, it implies that his father was dead by this time and thus not the Gilbert Olds, Revolutionary War Pensioner, said to have died in Indiana.4

Miss Olds is a graduate of Kansas City Junior college where she was president of the V. V. V. sorority.
Cadet Murray attended Kansas City Junior college and is now stationed at the United States naval air training center, Corpus Christi, Tex, in advanced training.2

Miss Rosalie Olds, daughter of Mrs. Clyde Walter Maupin, and Ensign Clark O. Murray, jr., U. S. N. R., son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark O. Murray, were married at 8 o'clock Tuesday night. August 22, at the Central. Presbyterian church. Fan shaped arrangements of huckleberry foliage and white gladioli and tall standards of lighted candles in the chancel formed the background for the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. Howard H. Gordon. Before the service. Mrs. james R. Elliott, organist, played the following program:

"Scherzo from Sonata No. 1” Rogers
Mrs. Elliott accompanied Mrs. James Porter, who sang "At Dawning” and "Because.”
The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle. Mr. Clarence Eugene Gould, wore a gown of white silk marquisette over taffeta, fashioned with heart-shaped neckline, long sleeves tapered to a point over the hand, fitted bodice outlined with full-gathered embroidered organdy, and hoop skirt which lengthened into an aisile-wide train. Her short double veil of tulle was held in place by sprays of stephanotis and she carried a cascade bouquet of white gardenias and stephanotis with shower of stephanotis.
Miss Becky Laffoon was maid of honor. Her gown was of shell pink net over faille taffeta and she carried Picardy gladioli. The brides-maids, Mrs. Beverly P. Haynes and Mrs. Winston A. Painter, wore gowns of lime green net over taffeta with fitted bodices and bouffant skirts. They carried cascade bouquets of Picardy gladioli. Mrs. Joseph J. Heinerickson and Miss Marian Morrison lighted the tapers.
Ensign Murray was attended by his father. Mr. Clark O. Murray, as best man. The groomsmen were Lieut. Willis Gene Moore and Ensign Tony Migliazzo. Mr. Beverly F. Haynes and Mr. Edgar Swain.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the home of the bride's mother. White ruffled petunias and white August lilies surrounded the 5-tiered wedding cake.
The brides mother wore a floor length gown of aquamarine crepe. The bridegroom's mother was gowned in white crepe. Both wore corsages of Miniver roses.
The bride's going away costume was of citron gabardine. Her deep purple half-hat was trimmed with an American Beauty feather and her corsage was of gardenias. The couple left for a honeymoon in the South and will be at home in Corpus Christi, Tex.3
