Hannah Churchill was born on 1 Nov 1644 at Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.1 She was the daughter of Josiah Churchill and Elizabeth Foote. Hannah Churchill married Samuel Royce, son of Robert Royce and Mary (?), on 9 Jan 1666 at New London, Connecticut.2
"Churchill, Royce, Baldwin.—Josias Churchill, [was] an early settler of Wethersfield, Conn.... In his will, dated Nov. 17, 1683 (inventory dated Jan. 5, 1687), he names children Joseph, Benjamin, Mary Church, Elizabeth Buck, Ann Rice, and Sarah Wickham.
"It is a fact well known that Hannah and Ann were used interchangeably at that period; and, also, that the surname Royce and Rice were the same. As he mentioned no daughter Hannah, it has been explained that she " died early," but this is based only upon assumption, and it is reasonable to conclude that Hannah and Ann were one and the same. ...

Josiah Churchill married Elizabeth Foote, daughter of Nathaniel Foote and Elizabeth (?), by 1639.1
His name is often extracted as Josias from the Wethersfield records. His first appearance in the Wethersfield records was at his marriage, in 1638. An entry in the town records, dated 2nd month 28th day 1641, describes the 6 acre lot on which his house stood.2 Josiah Churchill left a will. It states:
"Churchill, Josiah, Wethersfield. Invt. £618-12-06. Taken 5 January, 1686-7, by Mr. James Treat, John Buttolph. Will dated 17 November, 1683.
"I Josiah Churchill of Wethersfield do make this my last Will & Testament: I give unto my wife Elizabeth Churchill the use of all my Estate, whether Real or Personal, during her natural life, excepting such parcels of Land as shall hereafter be excepted, she paying all my Just Debts. And after her decease my Will is that all my Land & other Estate of mine she shall then stand possessed of, to be divided as follows: I give unto my son Joseph the House & Homelott he now liveth on, with all other Buildings thereon, and one Lott in the Little West Field, containing 10 acres, and another Lott containing 6 acres. I give unto my son Joseph my 50-acre Lott at the West End of Wethersfield Bounds. I do give unto my son Joseph, after the decease of my wife, Elizabeth, 5 acres in the Great Swamp, & 2 acres of Meadow lying toward the lower End of sd. Meadow, & half of my 5-acre Lott at the upper End of the Great Meadow. I give unto my son Benjamin Churchill 6 acres hi the Little West Field, also 10 acres more in the West Field. I give unto my son Benjamin, after the decease of my wife, my now Dwelling House & Homelott & other Build- ings upon sd. Lott, & 7 acres of Land in the Great Swamp, & 4 acres hi Beaver Meadow, & half my 5-acre Lott at the upper End of the Great Meadow. My Will is that all the rest of my Moveable Estate be equally divided betwixt my daughters Marah Church, Elizabeth Buck, Ann Rice and Sarah Wickham. My Will is that my wife be sole Executrix.
Witness: Samuel Talcott, josiah churchill. Ls.

Court Record, Page 128—3 March, 1686-7: Will Proven."3
His estate was valued at 618 pounds, 12 shillings and 6 pence and included two home lots and 210 acres of land. His children Joseph, Benjamin, Mary Church, Elizabeth Buck, Anne Rice, and Sarah Wickham are mentioned.4 Because of the mention of Ann Rice in Josiah's will, many authors have listed a daughter Anne, b. 1647. This daughter is listed by Goodwin5, by Savage, by Stiles, by Foote6, and by Churchill7. The Wethersfield Town Records do not have a birth record for Ann, only for "Hanah".

Sarah A. Clapp married Jonathan Olds, son of Nathan Olds and Hannah Wright, on 11 Sep 1854.1,2
My sources differ on whether her maiden name was Clapp or Wyman. Possibly one is incorrect or one is from another marriage for her. Perhaps there were two wives --- Jonathan could have remarried to a Sarah Wyman not long before his death.
Sarah A. Olds and Jonathan Olds appeared on the census of 1 Sep 1870 at Holyoke, Hampden County, Massachusetts, as follows:
932/1811 Olds, Jonathan, 38, farmer, b. Mass.
, Sarah A., 35, keeping house, b. Mass.
, Hiram C., 14, attends school, b. Mass.
, Anson J., 6, attends school, b. Mass.
, Hannah, 78, no occupation, b. Mass.3 In 1899, she was living at Holyoke, Massachusetts.4
