Seven in Jul 1966.3 She died on 9 Dec 1966 at Orange County, California, at age 47.4
On 6 Jan 1967, Jack wrote that he had been in touch with Dotty's sister Agnes in Seattle, but none other of her relatives. He expected to be appointed her Administrator soon. Dotty left her insurance and retirement benefits to her mother, leaving her apartment, car, about $400 in common stock and miscellaneous property to be administered. "Agnes wrote that one of the brothers tried to contact the father of Dotty's daughter in New York and apparently the daughter is also in New York. I am now trying to get the father's address through Agnes. There seems to be some question whether or not the daughter has ever been told about Dotty and whether the father wants her to know now. It looks very much as if I'll wind up as owner of an undivided 1/2 interest in a condiminium [sic] apartment with someone in New York."5

Anna Sexton married John Old, son of John Old and Elizabeth Denslow, on 16 Nov 1752 at Sheffield, Massachusetts.2,3,4,5 Anna Sexton died on 30 Sep 1777.6 She was buried at Bow Wow Cemetery, Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.7
Her marriage, on 16 Nov 1762 as Anna Sexton, is reported from the VR of Suffield, Connecticut from Vol. NB1, p. 130. Other Olds records abstracted from this page are "John, s. [John & Anna], b. Oct. 16, 1753* *(Probably, "1763")" and "Experience, m. Samuel Spencer, May 15, 1750". The marriage of John Old of Suffield and Anna Saxton of Sheffield on 16 Nov 1752 is also reported at Sheffield, Massachusetts. Her name has also been transcribed from that record as Anna Sardum. However, given that she had a daughter Abilineh Olds, I think she is Anna, daughter of James and Abelenah Saxton, born 28 April 1733 at Suffield, Massachusetts.

Flossie Lee's SSN was issued in Illinois. Also, her birth date is given as 7 Dec 1897.2 She was buried at Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney, Richland County, Illinois.3
"Tucked in the corner of the living room is a baby grand piano -- a Mason Hamlin -- probably the only one of its kind in Olney.
"Music lovers from children five years old to senior citizens in their 60s know it well. They thump, strike, and rolll its black and white keys -- for many reasons.
"Some play the piano because they have to, while others play because they love music.
"Flossie Bowers, who moved to Olney in 1920, has been giving music lessons since she was 18.
"'It has been my first and only job for 62 years,' said Mrs. Bowers. 'I knew what I wanted to do even when I was a child.
"'My mother played the organ and after the kids would go to bed, we would hear her play. I started taking lessons on the piano when I was about eight.
""When I was 18, I tried to teach my brothers and sisters, but they didn't take me seriously. So I taught music to a group of neighborhood children.'
"Mrs. Bowers, who is 80 and teaches about 25 students a week, went to Merom College, Indiana. She also studied through private lessons and workshops with several great pianists like Cecilia Ray Betry. Like them, she spent her life in music.
"'I enjoy studying music. There is always something new to learn. I took lessons at Stephens College and Illinois Wesleyan College.
"'Many of my teachers had different methods, so I would use one method for one student and apply another method to another student.
"'Some methods of teaching piano are right for some, but they're wrong for others. I just try to find the one that is right for the student.'
"'I usually put my younger students in class piano. Class piano teaches music theory like scales and rules for music. When I had two pianos in the house, I would have the students pay back and forth.
"'About ages eight or nine, I go to individual or small classes. By this age, each student begins to develop his own way of playing.
"'Of course, every music teacher instructs differently, and they're not wrong. This is just my way of teaching,' Mrs. Bowers emphasized.
"Mrs. Bowers has had six pianos in her life time and claims the Mason-Hamlin is the best.
"'A lot of it is hand made and it is just built better through and through.'
Mrs. Bowers teaches every other day in the morning and every day in the afternoon and Saturdays. Her lessons are 30 minutes.
"Looking through her old schedule books from 1965, Mrs. Bowers found one week she had 53 students.
"'I used to put on recitals when I was younger. But it's just too much for me now,' she said.
"Just as much as she loves music, so do her students respect and admire their teacher.
"'Many of my students invite me to their weddings or they will drop me a post card sometimes. In fact, my pupils are scattered throughout the United States.
"''Some of my students go on in music while others don't.
"'But I think its great when they play for their own enjoyment and many do.'
"Why hasn't Mrs. Bowers retired?
"'I keep my music going because I enjoy it and I use it to fill my time. I also meet the nicest friends by way of my students.
"'It's so rewarding. Sometimes I think I should pay my students, instead of having them pay me.4'"

Alexander P. Shaw was born on 5 Aug 1844 at Skye, Scotland.2 He married Mary Jane Manley, daughter of George Manley and Jane Elizabeth Olds, on 23 Jan 1872.1,3 Alexander P. Shaw died on 16 May 1929 at Hartford, Van Buren County, Michigan, at age 84.2 He was buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Van Buren County, Michigan.4

"Alex P. Shaw, 84, Hartford Civil war veteran and a resident here since 1869, died at his home on Church street early last Thursday morning after a two days illness resulting from intestinal trouble, the aftermath of a severe attack of influenza last winter.
"Mr. Shaw, one of the most active men of his age in the entire community, had been about the streets and working in his gardens up until Monday of last week. Stricken ill on Tuesday, he sank rapidly until his death ensued.
"Funeral rites for him were held at the Zuver and Calvin chapel Sunday afternoon, and were largely attended. Rev. J. H. Balfour, of Benton Harbor, former pastor of the Federated church here, and Rev. M. H. Terry, present pastor officiated. Commander Otto Helweg and members of Stoddard Post of the American Legion conducted military burial rites at the grave at Maple Hill. The American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of Union Veterans also attended the rites, as well as many friends and neighbors of the aged soldier.
"One Civil war veteran, M. C. White, of East Main street, was present to pay a last tribute of respect to his comrade. Messrs. Shaw and White had marched together in the Memorial Day parades for many years, both declining to ride in motor cars offered to the veterans.
"FOUGHT IN 22 BATTLES
"Mr. Shaw was born at the Isle of Skies, Scotland, August 5, 1844, and at the age of four years came to America with his parents, the family settling at Clarkson, N. Y.
"On August 7, 1862, he enlisted at Rockport, N. Y., in Co. A, 140th, New York Volunteers, later known as Ryan's Zouaves, and lacked one month of serving three years with his regiment.
"During those three years he fought in 22 engagements, but was never wounded. Fredericksburg and Gettysburg were among the most important battles in which he fought.
'Mr. Shaw always attended the annual reunions of his regiment until a year ago. He attended the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, and on that historic field he found, still standing, a little wall of stone which he had built for protection while the battle was raging. Lying on the ground he reached out and secured a stone at a time until he erected a wall that protected him from enemy bullets. He found it there a half century later. At his death last week he was one of the last survivors of his regiment. Only 18 of them were living at the time of the annual reunion last July.
"BUILT FIRST BUGGIES HERE
"After the war, Mr. Shaw was apprenticed to a carriage maker in New York and acquired the training to begin his trade in Hartford four years later. Starting in 1869 he built the first buggies ever built in Hartford. He began building buggies in his own shop, then joined forces with Charles Mortimer, another pioneer wagon maker, and later became associated with M. F. Hoover, another surviving Civil war veteran and owner of the Hoover wagon shops here for years. Some of the vehicles they built are still doing service on the farms and highways.
"In 1883, Mr. Shaw went to Fairmount, North Dakota, where he farmed until 1901. Then he returned to Hartford and put in nine more years building buggies and wagons at the Hoover shop.
"In recent years Mr. Shaw has indulged his hobby, that of gardening. Over a hundred varieties of flowers and the seasonable vegetables always thrive in his garden spaces. Flowers were his chief delight, and he distributed many of them among the sick of the community.
"Mr. Shaw married in Hartford in 1872 to Miss Mary Manley, who died some years ago.
"He is survived by his second wife, Mary Elizabeth Shaw, and three sons, Frank Shaw, an attorney, and Wanzo M. Shaw, newspaper publisher and postmaster, both of Sheldon, N.D., who were here for the funeral, and Ernest Shaw of Caldwell, Idaho, who was unable to come. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Maude Jones of Brockport, N.Y.5 "
