Perez Steele was born on 1 May 1758 at Tolland, Connecticut.2 He married Hannah Simmons, daughter of Abel Simmons and Hannah Reed, on 7 Jun 1781 at Tolland, Connecticut.3 Perez Steele died on 28 Feb 1836. This gives his calculated age as 77 years, 9 months and 27 days.4,5 He was buried at Pleasant Valley (aka Ashland) Cemetery, Town of Ashland, Greene County, New York.5

Her husband, the pensioner, had died 28 Feb 1836. On 5 May 1853, Lucy Steele of Gilboa, Schoharie County, New York, age 70, who had married Perez Steele at Lexington, Greene County, New York, in the first part of January, 1833, claimed a pension for his service. He had died 28 Feb 1836. Lucy's claim was rejected (R10096).

Homer Victor Stevens was born on 26 Dec 1916 at Richland County, Illinois.2 He was the son of John Ross Stevens and Ethel Treece.2 Homer Victor Stevens married Thelma Louise Clodfelter, daughter of Clark Osman Clodfelter and Dora May Ridgely, on 2 Nov 1938 at Mishawaka, Indiana.1,3 Homer Victor Stevens appears in the Social Security Death Index as having died Mar 1973 with the last place of residence listed as Parkersburg, Richland County, Illinois. Homer Victor's SSN was issued in Indiana|26 Dec 1915 (sic). .4 He died on 14 Mar 1973 at Carls Clinic, Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois, at age 56.2 He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland County, Illinois.5

James L. Steward married Elzina Olds, daughter of Ruel Reed Olds and Elmina Perkins, on 26 Sep 1861 at Yamhill County, Oregon.1,2,3 James L. Steward died on 16 Oct 1897.4 He was buried at Masonic Cemetery, McMinnville, Yamhill County, Oregon.5
"Wearying, however, of single blessedness, he married, on September 26, 1861, Miss Elzina Olds, an estimable lady, and native of Indiana. She was a daughter of Ruel Olds, an esteemed pioneer of 1844. He and his wife settled on Mr. Steward's claim, where they have since continued to reside. In 1859, Mr. Steward build a large and comfortable farm residence, and otherwise improved the place, making of it an attractive and pleasant home. In 1883, Mrs. Steward's father died, aged 72 years, and she lost her mother two years later, in 1885. The old donation claim of her parents is now owned by herself and brothers. Besides this, Mr. Steward owns 200 acres of the choicest land in the valley, and is numbered among the prosperous farmers of the county."6

Samuel Leslie Stewart was born on 23 Dec 1911 at near Amity, Oregon.1 He married Marjorie Ann Nahouse, daughter of Lester Henry Nahouse and Myrtle Iva Olds, on 28 Jun 1935 at Moro, Oregon.1 Samuel Leslie Stewart died in Jun 1970 at age 582 and was buried at Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, Polk County, Oregon.3

"RICKREALL -- Services for Samuel Leslie Stewart, 58, Rickreall, Rt. 1, Box 237, who died Monday in a Salem Hospital following a long illness, will be 10:50 a.m. Thursday in Macy and Sons mortuary, McMinnville, Rev. Richard Halstead officiating.
"Born at McCoy, he attended Bethel School and later graduated from Linfield College in 1934. He taught at Glendale, and Perrydale schools before retiring in 1948. He returned to teaching in 1957, becoming superintendent at Perrydale High school as well as coaching and teaching there. He taught for two years at Sheridan before retiring in 1969.
"Survivors include his widow Marjorie; sons Robert, Juneau, Alaska, and Samuel L., Jr., San Jose, Calif; brother Glen, Sherwood; sisters Gladys Landis, West Linn, Mrs. Nell Turner, Sheridan, and Mrs. Marjorie Hamstreet, Salem; five grandchildren.
