Hannah Taylor was born in 1745.2 She married (1) Thomas Stevenson on 14 Jan 1762 at Chatham, Connecticut.1 Hannah Taylor married (2) Ebenezer Old, son of Ebenezer Old and Rebecca Temple, on 3 Dec 1788 at Chatham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.3 Hannah Taylor was buried at Bow Wow Cemetery, Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.4 She died on 31 Aug 1840.5,6
On 22 April 1840, in a renewed application for a pension, Hannah Olds of Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, age 94 and infirm, stated that she was the widow of Thomas Stephenson who had entered service on 10 June 1775 as a resident of Chatham, Connecticut, and was commisioned Lieutenant on the first of June 1776. He died in service in October 1776. About twelve years later (also stated as 1787) she married Ebenezer Olds whe died in a few years (He died "more than thirty years ago".) and she remains a widow. The file contains a Bible record showing the marriage date of 14 Jan 1762. Stephenson had left her with five children, all daughters. The 12 Oct 1838 deposition shows that Hannah continued to live at Chatham as the widow of Stevenson until 1786, when she moved to Massachusetts. Some statements in the file say that Stevenson died while stationed at Bergen, New Jersey, from "camp distemper", while others say he died on board a British prison ship. Hannah Olds was entered on the roll of Massachusetts at $60/month to commence as of 4 March 1831. She died 30 Aug 1840. The pension certificate was issued on 10 Nov 1840, with arrears.7
