Edgar Ray Slunaker was born on 12 Jun 1903.1 He married Jennie Irene Higgins, daughter of Asa Higgins Jr. and Sarah Nancy Ridgely, on 31 Dec 1926.1 Edgar Ray Slunaker and Jennie were divorced on 13 Dec 1966.1 Edgar Ray Slunaker died on 13 Jan 1973 at age 69.2,3

"Edgar Slunaker, 69, of Bonpas Township, was found dead at his home Saturday morning by relatives. Death was due to natural causes.
"The deceased was a farmer and lived in the Berryville community.
"Funeral services were held this afternoon at the King & Ingram Funeral Home with Brother Dave Rayburn of Mt. Carmel officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope church cemetery, south of Claremont.
"Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Kaericher of Steger, Ill., and Mrs. Mildred Goldman of Calhoun; four sons, Roy, Ray, and Harold of Calhoun, and Bill of Parkersburg; 14 grandchildren; a twin sister, Mrs. Edna Provines."4

"Bill Slunaker, 42, Parkersburg, died following a short ilness in the home of a sister at 5:50 p.m. Friday.
"Services are Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home, West Salem, with Rev. Melody Brawley presiding. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, northeast of Berryville.
"He was born Sept. 12, 1943, in Richland County to Edgar and Jenny (Higgins) Slunaker.
Mr. Slunaker was a truck driver for Ridgley [sic] Trucking for 14 years. He was working at the present time at the American Legion Club, West Salem.
"He was a past vice-president of Eagles in Olney and was a member of Gilead Presbyterian Church.
"He is survived by three brothers, Ray, Roy, and Harold, all of Berryville; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Goldman, of Berryville; and Mrs. Mary Ellen Kaericher, Steger."5

"'They took some x-rays,' said Slunker. 'But we never talked to a doctor at all. The ambulance drive came and told us that he was ready to go. They should have known something was wrong with him.'
"Slunaker said his brother returned to his sister's home, where his condition continued to worsen. No second attempt was made to have him hospitalized becaue 'they didn't do anything for him the first time we were there', Slunaker said.
"'He got all sweaty and we knew something was wrong,' he said.,[sic] 'We were with him until he died.'
"Slunaker was already dead when the ambulance was summoned to Goldman's home late Friday afternoon. Harold Slunaker said the only health problem he knew his brother had was that he was overweight.
"The family refused to have the body autopsied. Richland County Coronor Susan Landis-Bromm has ruled that the death was due to 'natural causes.'

"Slunaker was already dead when the ambulance was summoned to Goldman's home late Friday afternoon. Harold Slunaker said the only health problem he knew his brother had was that he was overweight.
"The family refused to have the body autopsied. Richland County Coronor Susan Landis-Bromm has ruled that the death was due to 'natural causes.'

Dewitt Smith was born in 1875.2 He married Edith R. Harrison, daughter of Russell Harrison and Sarah Ellen Rose, on 16 Nov 1898.1,3 Dewitt Smith died in 1962.2 He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland County, Illinois.4
His obituary states:
"Mr. DeWitt Smith, whose body was interred in the Oak Hill Cemetery Thursday was a brother of Bert Smith, who was a merchant in Parkersburg many years ago. He grew to manhood east of West Salem and lived in that town some years where some of his children attended school. He married Miss Edith Harrison, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Harrison who lived near the old Harrison or No. 5 school house, east of Parkersburg. For many years the Smith family has lived in Brazil, Ind."1

Donald LaMon Smith was born on 7 May 1920.1 He was the son of Melvin Smith and Myrtle Orenda Brines.1 Donald LaMon Smith married Ruth Isabel Milnes on 2 Oct 1947.2 Donald LaMon Smith appears in the Social Security Death Index as having died 26 Feb 1999 with the last place of residence listed as Morton, Tazewell County, Illinois. Donald LaMon's SSN was issued in Illinois. Also, his birth date is given as 7 May 1920.3 He died on 26 Feb 1999 at age 78.3
