     John Arthur McDonald was born on 18 Jan 1939.1,2 He was the son of John W. McDonald and Iris Genelle Moore.1 John Arthur McDonald married an unknown person in Nov 1974.3 He died on 8 Jun 2004 at age 65.4 He was buried at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, Hall County, Georgia.5
     He is listed as a surviving son in his mother's obituary.
     His obituary states: "John Arthur McDonald, 65, of Oakwood died Tuesday.
"The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Buford. Burial will be in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford.

     A David McDowell who had served in the War of 1812 as a private in Capt. Clement's Company in the First Regiment of South Carolina Militia was given land warrant 13203 for 40 acres. On 1 Aug 1853, he was granted 40 acres located in the north east quarter of the south west quarter of section 36 town 16 north in the district of lands subject to sale at Batesville, Arkansas.2 On 1 May 1867, Jones Foster of Spartanburg District, South Carolina, gave this land to his son William H. Foster and daughter Mary Younger along with two other tracts of land in the same section that had been warranted to other men.3
