     She may be the Martha Spencer who married Nathaniel Pomeroy at Suffield with no date given but recorded in Vols. NB1 p. 202 and KL p. 148. Their daughter Betsey was born 17 March 1782 (from the same pages). The death of Capt. Nathaniel Pomeroy on 17 May 1831, at age 73, is recorded on Vol. NB1 p. 202.3

     Mary Edna Spidle was born on 11 Jul 1896 near Carlisle, Pennsylvania.1 She married George Howard Ridgely, son of Ira Oscar Ridgely and Maranda Bowers, on 30 Aug 1930 at First Church of the Brethren, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.2 Mary Edna Spidle died on 24 Oct 1975 at her home, Bonpas Township, Richland County, Illinois, at age 793 and was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Parkersburg, Richland County, Illinois.4
     She graduated on 19 Jun 1930 from Lewis Institute, Chicago, Illinois.5
     Mary Ridgely: Cause of death -- Acute myocardial Failure. Immediate cause -- Disturbance of rhythm - Result of Carpolmonale [sic -- corpulmonale]. Other cause -- Pulmonary Emphysema Far Advanced.6
     Her obituary states:
"Mary Edna Spidle, daughter of Edward O. Spidle and Anna Kuntz Spidle, was born on July 11, 1896, near Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She died of a heart condition at her home east of Parkersburg, Illinois, October 24, 1975, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, 13 days.
" Early in her life she became a member of the Church of the Brethren. In her younger years she worked as a secretary in Washington, D. C., and later as secretary to the President of Bethany Bible School, A. C. Wiesend [sic -- Albert Cassel Wieand], in Chicago. She graduated with a B. S. degree from Lewis Institute.
"While in Chicago she met G. H. Ridgely, and on August 30, 1930, they were married in the Chicago First Church of the Brethren. In 1940, they moved to the family farm east of Parkersburg, Illinois, where they have made their home since.
"Some of Mary's particular interests were: her church work, Women's Fellowship, Children's Work in the Southern Illinois Church District, and especially her home, where hospitality was extended over the years to many, many friends and relatives.
"She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Earl Spidle, two sisters, Elsie Bankert and Sara Sollers, and an infant brother.
"She leaves her husband, G. H. Ridgely, and several nieces and nephews.
"Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on October 27, 1975, at the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren east of Parkerburg, Illinois, with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery."7

     Charles Edward Stadge was born on 21 Jul 1920 at Richland County, Illinois.3 He married Norma Fay Ribley, daughter of Ramon Roscoe Ribley and Esther Ernestine Bowers, on 15 Oct 1944.1 Charles Edward Stadge and Norma were divorced.4 Charles Edward Stadge died on 13 Dec 1993 at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, Richland County, Illinois, at age 73.3
     His obituary states:
     "Charles Edward Stadge, 73, of Olney, Illinois, died at 7:33 p. m., December 13, 1993, at the Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
"Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 16, 1993 in the Chapel of Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Dr. Hames Gibson officiated. Burial was in the Crest Haven Cemetery in Claremont, IL.
"Mr. Stadge was born July 21, 1920, in Richland County, the son of Alger and Goldie (McWilliams) Stadge. He married Linda Umfleet June 4, 1967, in Claremont.
" He was a retired farmer. He had worked at the International Shoe Factory and Roadmaster in Olney. Mr. Stadge attended Bible Fellowship and was a teacher at the school.
"Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Olney; two sons, David Stadge, and wife, Vicki, of Westerville, OH, and Thomas Umfleet, and wife, Cindy, of Claremont, IL; one daughter, Tonya Hundley, and husband, Donnie, of Ridge Farm, IL; two brothers, John Walter Stadge, and wife, Delores, of Olney, and Cecil Stadge, and wife, Pauline, of Parkersburg, IL; eight grandchildren, Derick Stadge, Ami Crites, Jamie Hundley, Erica Hundley, Danielle Hundley, Patrick Umfleet, and Amanda and T.
