     Alfred S. Olds was born c 1836 at New York.2 He was the son of Alexander Olds and Lovicy Prouty.1 Alfred S. Olds died on 4 Jun 1864 at Cold Harbor, Virginia,3 and was buried at Universal Presbyterian Cemetery, Youngstown, Niagara County, New York.3,4
     Alfred S. Olds, age 28, enlisted 4 Jan 1864 at Warsaw [sic], mustered in same day as private in Co. F, 8th artillery. He was a farmer, born in Niagara County, N. Y. He was 5' 8 1/2" tall with grey eyes, brown hair, light complexion. He was wounded at Cold Harbor, Va., on 3 June 1864 and died 5 June 1864 "in Hosp. 2" Div 2 A. C., of G. S. wounds."5

     Alfred Whipple Olds was born on 3 Mar 1877.2,3 He was the son of Alfred Allen Olds and Lizzie Maria Whipple.1 Alfred Whipple Olds married Mary McKee on 18 Nov 1903.2 Alfred Whipple Olds died on 6 May 1943 at age 66.4 He was buried at Palisado Cemetery, Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.5
     His obituary states:
     "ALFRED W. OLDS
"WINDSOR, Ct., May 6 (AP) --- Alfred W. Olds, 56, the Windsor town court's first deputy judge and former operator of a tobacco plantation here, died today.
"Mr. Olds is survived by his widow and three children, Dr. John McKee Olds, surgeon in charge of Memorial Hospital at Twillingate, Newfoundland; Mrs. Stuart H. Chapman of Lima, Pa., and Mrs. Douglas H. Mott of Burlington, Mass.
"He was a graduate of Yale, 1899."6

     Alice Olds was born c 1904 at Virginia City, Nevada.2,3 She was the daughter of Albert J. Olds and Sarah Elizabeth Thompson. Alice Olds married George Fred Raker on 14 Jun 1924 at Reno, Washoe County, Nevada.4 Alice Olds died on 2 Sep 1951 at near Paradise Valley, Nevada.5
     "Alice received her teacher's certificate the following year, and joined the teaching staff. She taught one year, and then married Fred, a cowboy sweetheart, that she'd ridden the range with many times. She was fully aware of the fact that there never was a cowboy that could support a family on a cowboy's wages, so after they were married, she went right on teaching, and as the stoybook goes. "They lived happily ever after."6
     "At 5 o'clock George F. Raker, rancher of Melford, Cal., and Miss Alice Olds of Tule Mountain were married. Miss Olds was formerly a Reno student and a public school teacher. They were accompanied by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. T.[sic] Olds, and the mother of Mr. Raker."4

"The Henderson, Nevada, couple met death while returning home from a brief vacation trip following the close of the University of Nevada summer session which Mr. Raker had attended. He was a guard at the BMI plant at Henderson and Mrs. Raker was a school teacher there.
"Born in Susanville July 26, 1895, Mr. Raker had been employed at the plant for the last 10 years. Mrs. Raker was a native of Virginia City, where she was born Dec. 31, 1903.
"Surviving the couple are four children, Lee Raker of Quincy, Calif., Donald Raker of Gerlach and Jean and John Raker of Henderson.
"Mr. Raker is survived by five sisters, Mrs. George Ferris of Reno, Mrs. John Utley of La Crescenta, Calif., Mrs. Carrie Boege and Mrs. Clara Bell of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Lee Vaughan of Downey, Calif., and two brothers, Avery Raker of Reno and Ray Raker of Flanigan.

"The highway crash occured when the Raker car and a car occupied by James Dale Burton and Deanne Stewart of Alhambra, Calif., collided at the Paradise valley turnoff. Burton received a serious head injury and was taken to Humboldt hospital in Winnemucca, while Miss Stewart suffered bruises and facial cuts."8
