Joseph King 3d. married Abiah Old, daughter of Nathaniel Old and Mercy Steel, on 5 May 1748 at Suffield, Hartford County, Massachusetts.1
The Joseph King, 3d, who married widow Tryphena Bowker on 12 Sep 1669 and had more children is probably another man. His family is referenced as being in Vol. NB1, pp. 170-71. He died 19 March 1814 at age 73 and Tryphena died 30 Nov. 1828, age 90. The Joseph King who died 4 June 1772 at Suffield was probably Joseph King, 2nd, husband of Eunice Seymour.

"Pastor Speaks of Admirable Career at Funeral
"Services Conducted for Late Business Man of Portland From Holman Chapel
"The funeral of the late Samuel W. King was held yesterday afternoon in the Holman Chapel, Third and Salmon Streets, the Rev. W. C. Eliot, Jr., pastor of the First Unitarian church, officiating. Dr. Eliot, who had known Mr. King for many years, touched upon his admirable character and esteemed personality as a teacher, church worker, a business man and a loyal and honored citizen of Portland. 'Those of us who knew him as a teacher,' said Dr. Eliot, never really think of him in any other way, and a pupils, gratefully remember all he did for us.'
"Dr. Stuart McGuire sang 'No Night There' at the beginning of the service and 'One Sweetly Solemn Thought' at the conclusion. The honorary were Judge H. H. Northrup, Judge Wallace McCamant, Dr. T. L. Eliot, George Lawrence, Jr., W. L. MacKenzie and H. M. Hendershott and the acting palllbearers were James Thompson, D. Southworth, Henry Jenkins, Jr., and William, Clarence and Edward Illidge, all step-sons of Mr. King. The body was taken to the Portland crematorium for incineration.
"The store of Olds, Wortman, and King was closed all day yesterday on account of the funeral."7

"Mr. Kirwin was president of the J.P. Kirwin Electric Company and Kirwin Real Estate Development. He was a 1963 graduate of the former De La Salle Academy in Newport and a 1967 graduate of Fairfield University. He was an avid athlete, competing in eight Ocean State marathons. He was one of the founders of the Newport Rugby Club and a player for many years. He served on the Newport Zoning Board of Review. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a past member of the redevelopment committee and a parishioner of St. Mary?s Church in Newport.
"He is survived by his wife, daughters Casey E. Kirwin, Paige Michol Kirwin-Clair and Alexandra Woods Phelan, all of Newport, sisters Patricia A. Folliard and Elizabeth Kirwin, both of Newport, brothers Garrett O. Kirwin, Christopher Kirwin, Terrance Kirwin, all of Newport, and Peter J. Kirwin and Stephen D. Kirwin, both of Portsmouth, and grandson Collin Clair of Newport.
"His funeral was held Wednesday, June 5 at O?Neill-Hayes Funeral Home in Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph?s Church in Newport. Burial was private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871."2
