"The accident occurred one mile west of Illinois State Road 130 on the Dundas-Wendelin road, just a short distance east of Dennis Grove's home.
"Both vehicles were eastbound at the time of the accident.
"Dennis Grove was driving the motorcycle with Sheryl Ridgely, his sister-in-law, a passenger. ...

Samuel Gunn and Joanna Warner.2 Havillah Gunn married (1) Lora Martin Simmons, daughter of Stephen Simmons and Mabel Hunt, on 14 Oct 1805 at Windham, New York.1 Havillah Gunn died on 8 Sep 1867 at Olney, Richland County, Illinois, at age 81.3
According to a county history, Havillah was born in Connecticut, moved to Virginia, then to Illinois in 1806, then back to Portsmouth, Ohio, and, in 1835, back to Illinois. His children were named John H., George, Daniel, Maria Stanley, Amanda Roberts, and William (all living about 1893), and Zinas, Stephen S., Samuel H., Hannah Smith, and Elizabeth (all deceased by about 1893).4 Anyone wishing to trace his descendants might start with the probate of his estate in Richland County, Illinois. His will, written 12 July 1864 and filed on 16 September 1867, named his wife Delia and 11 children.5 A notice of his death appeared in the Portsmouth Times of 14 September 1867: “Died. Another Pioneer Gone. Died. Sept 8th 1867, at his residence in Olney, Illinois, Havillah Gunn, aged 81 years. William H. Gunn was the son of Havillah Gunn.1 William H. Gunn died on 22 Oct 1917 at Emporia, Kansas.1
His obituary states:
"William H. Gunn, a former citizen of Olney, died October 22 at his home in Emporia, Kansas. He was the last of the sons of Havila Gunn, who came to Illinois in 1806 and who opened the first store in Olney in 1841. William Gunn enlisted in the Civil war and after its close became associated with the Gunn Brothers' mercantile business here. Later he went to Emporia and engaged in railroad business."1

A. T. Haire was born on 5 May 1826.1 He married Lula Jane Whitlock, daughter of Jacob Whitlock and Susannah Sammons, on 15 Feb 1879.1 A. T. Haire died on 15 Sep 1904 at age 78.1

"A. T. Haire was born May 5, 1826. He died at the old homestead September 15, 1904. He was married to Sarah E. Keys, October 25, 1857. Of their union eight children were born, six boys and two girls. Sarah E. Haire died September 21, 1876. She was united with the Methodist Church in her early age. He was married to Lula J. Whitlock, Feb. 15, 1879. Unto them were born nine children, three girls and six boys. He united with the Methodist Church in his early age."1

Anna Hale married Asaph Olds, son of Josiah Olds and Dorothy Smith, on 29 Mar 1807.1,2 Marriage banns for her and Asaph Olds were published on 30 Mar 1807 at Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts.3
E. B. Olds1 gives Anna's death date as 1 Jan 1818 but this is probably in error. The date is the same as that given for their daughter, Emeline Augusta and, in Brookfield Births, the first seven children are listed as children of Asaph and Anna Olds. George Wilson Olds is not listed there.
