     Samuel Edward Adams was born on 6 Jul 1923 at Bonpas Township, Richland County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Charles Henry Adams and Mary Caroline Bowers. Samuel Edward Adams died on 4 Apr 1978 at Good Samaritan, Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana, at age 54.2 He was buried at Sumner Cemetery, Sumner, Lawrence County, Illinois.2
     Samuel worked for different lines of the railroads, but worked for the Baltimore and Ohio for 27 years. He was also a minister of the Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII, having served in the U. S. Navy.
He adopted Thomas Edward, Margaret's son of her former marriage. For the last several years of his life, he was physically unable to work. His last home was in Sumner, Illinois.3
     His obituary states:
     "Samuel E. Adams, 53, Sumner, died at 1:30 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Ind.
"He ws born July 6, 1923 in Claremont to Charles H. and Mary Bowers Adams. He was a former agent telegrapher for the B & O Railroad, a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Olney.
"He is survived by his wife, Margaret Danielson Adams; a son; Tom, Miles City, Mont; daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Tanya) Bunn, Olney, and Mrs. Steven (Andrea) Taylor, Dayton, Ohio; amd [sic] three grandchildren. A sister, brother, and his parents preceded him in death.
"Services for Mr. Adams will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sivert Funeral Home, Sumner with visitation after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. John Taylor assisted by the Rev. Henry Wortman. Burial will be in Summmer [sic] cemetery."2
