Andrew Lafayette Hedrick was born on 14 Oct 1846.2 He was the son of George Hedrick and Fannie M. (?).1 Andrew Lafayette Hedrick married Lucinda Ridgely, daughter of Orrick Ridgely and Nancy Harrison, on 13 Apr 1870 at Richland County, Illinois.3,4 Andrew Lafayette Hedrick married (2) Mary Frances Roby on 22 Mar 1892.5,6,7 Andrew Lafayette Hedrick died on 24 Nov 1944 at age 98.8 He was buried on 26 Nov 1944 at Moravian Cemetery, West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois. The inscription is "A. Lafe Hedrick, 1846 - 1944, Co. F, 152 Reg. Ill."9,10

"Flower bearers were Mesdames Elsie Clodfelter, Emma Voigt, Dora Voigt, Minnie Moudy and Miss Mary Hedrick.

On reaching the age of 18, he enlisted in the service of his country, becoming a member of Co. F, 152nd Regiment of the Illinois Infantry. He is the last of the Civil War veterans to have survived this long in Edwards county.
"On April 13, 1870 he married Laicinda[sic] Ridgley. This union was blessed with four children, two girls and two boys. One of his daughters preceded him in death. On Jan. 5, 1890, his wife departed Two years later on March 23, 1892, he married --? Libke, his faithful wife who cared for him up to his sudden departure from this life Friday morning.
"All of his life has been spent in the vicinity of West Salem. During his long span of life he has kept his connections with the Moravian church. In his earlier years he was a member of the church choir and band. Our deported brother enjoyed a good share of excellent health. He was quite hearty until a day or two before his death. His death came quite suddenly after this short period of break down. He passed away Friday morning, Nov. 24, about 6 o'clock, reaching the age of 98 years, one month and ten days. Surviving him are, his wife; one sister, Almie Ridgley[sic--Emma Ridgely] of Calhoun, Ill., aged 93; three children, Bertha Tracy of Seattle. Wash., Ira Hedrick of Wapella. Ill., and Arthur W. Arthur W. Hedrick was born on 28 Jan 1871.2 He was the son of Andrew Lafayette Hedrick and Lucinda Ridgely.1 Arthur W. Hedrick married Ophelia Rash, daughter of F. M. Rash, on 6 Nov 1895 at Richland County, Illinois.3,4 Arthur W. Hedrick died on 19 May 1965 at Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois, at age 94.5,6 He was buried on 22 May 1965 at Moravian Cemetery, West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois.7,8

Emma Louise Hedrick was born on 4 Aug 1851.1 She was the daughter of George Hedrick.3 Emma Louise Hedrick married James Ridgely, son of Orrick Ridgely and Nancy Harrison, on 23 Dec 1868. They were married by the pastor of the German Moravian Church of West Salem.1,4 Emma Louise Hedrick died on 28 May 1948 at age 961 and was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Bonpas Township, Richland County, Illinois.5
