Smith, as his father's executor, stated that his father "departed this life several years ago" and had devised "a considerable part of his real & personal property to his widow Elizabeth Smith during her natural life or widowhood directing it to be sold at her death and that said Elizabeth has lately departed this life".2

Grace (?) married Uzal Wardell, son of William Wardell and Alice Pice, in 1676.2 Grace (?) died in 1741.
She left a will in 1739. "The will of Uzal's second wife, Grace Wardwel of Bristol, widow, was dated 19 October 1739 and proved 27 May 1741 . . . She mentions sons Uzal (eldest), James, Joseph, Benjamin deceased, and William Wardwel; and three daughters Mary Barker, Grace Giddins, and Sarah Bosworth; grandson Uzal Wardwel son of my son Benjamin deceased; daughters-in-law [i. e. step-daughters] Abigail Green, Hannah Crompton, and Mary Lawles. Son-in-law Nathaniel Bosworth was named executor."1
Grace has been assigned the surname Giddings by some authors. A Grace Giddings was a daughter of Uzal and Grace Wardwell. Since the best articles do not give a surname for the wife, I think there is significant doubt that she should be listed as Giddings.

According to "An Inventory of the Estate of Hannah Cowles the widdow of John Cowles off Hattfeilde who deceased March 16, 1683" the value of her estate was 107 pounds 5 shillings 2 pence, including much already in the hands of her children.6
"After the death of John Cowles, his widow Hannah Cowles, whose maiden name is unknown, returned to Connecticut and took up her residence with her son-in-law, Captain Caleb Stanley at Hartford, where she died March 17, 1683, aged about 70 years (Gravestone, Center Churchyard, Hartford, photo copy herewith), Court Record says she died March 16, 1783, (see Inventory of her Estate)."4 She left a will on 27 Oct 1680.
